Hey guys, today I heard online and got my packet in the mail. Don't be nervous if yours doesn't say Congratulations on the front of the envelope because mine didn't. I had a 4.0, 1880 on the SAT and 27 on the ACT. I applied to business at first in august but then 3 days ago changed to undecided and got in right away. Just wanna say thanks to CC for all the help and support and good luck to everyone who's still stressing. GO LIONS!

lol congrats! Welcome to Penn State!

Congrats!!!! You think going undecided helped at all?

Congratulations. It was even tougher than usual to get in this time around in admissions. You will love Happy Valley.

Yeah. Undecided DEFINITELY helped rather than the more competitive business program. And yes, I already love Happy Valley from what I've been up there. Good luck!

Should I switch my application from business to undecided?

I did and heard within 3 days after waiting forever when it was business, I recommend it. Im just gonna apply for Smeal now that Ive gotten in

i got in to up fall 09 with a 3.3 gpa 24 act prvt school hispanic

Congrats to you both; now you can enjoy your winter break! :)

I got in as well

did you e-mail them to change your major?

no i was lib arts the whole way

is actuarial science major part of business?

PSUapp09 or anyone else who may know: since you switched to DUS, how does that affect the courses you will take? What if you decide to become a business major; will you have that opportunity??

You can take any courses in DUS. If you have an idea where you want t head major-wise (business, science, lib arts etc) you can take pre-req courses your first two years that would satisfy most of the majors in that area. If you think you want to be a business major you can change your major from DUS to something in Smeal at your FTCAP session this coming summer.

hey cwryan1 so i got into lib arts so that means at my ftcap meeting i could switch into smeal with no strings attatched or what?? Thanks alot

Yep. Alot of college students add/drop/switch majors at least once and it would be hard on both the college and the student to make them jump through hoops to do this.

However, keep in mind that a few majors have reqs you need done by the time you declare your major (GPA req and "core" business courses for Smeal and Intro Bio, Chem, and Calc for some Eberly Science majors)

lols i had a 1880, 4.0, and 28 on ACt, i got in too yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

dhara we had like exact same stats haha congrats

i think this is an indicator that psu reviews kids based on major not just random selection. i remember my counselor said this, but i was a little skeptical.
