Congratulations! Have you checked out Lyman Briggs College at MSU? They may have what you are interested in. I saw in another thread you were interested in computer science or food science.

^Good for you, Smash. Shyanne is right, Briggs is a great residential college focusing on science (where you live and go to class in the dorm "small-college" setting). Also, both the regular computer and food science programs are great in thier own right. Hope you end up coming to MSU.

Congrats! How long was the time between when you applied and when you heard?

It took about 5 weeks after they received all my application materials to get my acceptance letter.

I live in WI so it's not too far from Michigan.

Got my acceptance back in September. It only took about 2 weeks after they had received all my materials.

GPA: 3.9
ACT: 30
In-state
MechE

Not sure if I will go. Hoping to go to UofM, but we'll see how much money State gives.

I just sent in my stuff what do you guys think of my chances.
gpa 3.4 unweighted, 10 ap's taken and 25 on act.

Slugger255, don't worry, you'll be fine.

Since Umich tuition is only about $800 dollars more a year than Michgan State I wish someone would tell the difference they are offered for attending. That would be interesting. Michigan State's room and board is cheaper.

accepted, with 33 ACT and 3.92 weighted GPA. Applied in mid-september, results in Mid-october.

with a 33 ACT and 3.92 GPA, were you offered a scholarship, Fa-la-la-lena?

I think Fa-la-la-lena will be invited to the ADS competition in January at MSU It is a chance for high achieving students to win great scholarships.

i have no idea about scholarships yet...i only received the housing app... money is definitely a huge factor in determining where i go..

slugger, i think you have a very good chance of getting in.

daaaaabulls,

I'd say you're in. I wouldn't count on any money, though.

Accepted: 34 ACT and a 4.136 GPA - heard 8 days after they say they received all of my information. I also got into the Honors College (with Lyman Briggs)

Did you have to apply to the honors college -- or were you invited?

I was invited, they called my house and told me, and then I got a letter about a week later (that was just a few days ago)

about how many days/weeks was it between the times you recieved your acceptance letter to the school and were invited to the honor's college?

Well, I had kinda a weird situation, I got my acceptance letter, then about a week later a got an invitation to come to this weekend for honors students, so I was confused because I had not been invited to the honors college yet, I called the honors college and asked about it, they took my app # and whatnot. The next day I got the phone call I was accepted, and about a week later I got the letter. So total it was about 2 weeks between letters...
