Post here if you were accepted to University of Oregon, freshman fall 2009!

Have you already heard? My daughter sent in her app late Oct. She called today and they told her she'll hear by Dec 15th.

I was accepted! Now I just have to wait a few months to hear about CHC.

Is U of O rolling?

I was accepted.
Is anyone attending the Scholars Recognition Day?

Aquividens, did they tell you the honors college decisions will be made later? Did they give you any idea of when that would be?

Aren't you guaranteed acceptance with a certain GPA and stuff? I have a 3.8 and have taken only AP classes so...

I know residents are guaranteed acceptance with a 3.25, assuming they meet the requirements for high school coursework. I'm not sure if that is the same for non-residents.

I heard and I met the Early Action deadline. The decision was actually really quick, considering there was a mistake in their filing/processing and we had to sort it out (yes, UO, I did take a foreign language....?)

I'm also waiting to hear back from CHC. Good luck and post if you hear anything.

Gig - U of O is not rolling. They had an early notification/action date and have a regular decision date coming up.

They sent me an email about when the decision would be made. I'll go find it.

Dated November 8:
"Hi [aquividens],

Our records show that the final missing forms were loaded last night. We have received all of your documents and will prepare your application for review.

We will mail our decision letters by December 15, 2008.

Thank you,
-Paula

Wow, good luck! I hope that applies to my app too. I am excited to know.

Accepted!

Deferred by CHC, which is a big factor for me deciding if I want to attend the University.

Yeah, I got deferred from CHC. I'm disappointed...

Anyone care to shed light on their criteria for CHC EA? Do they give more weight to geography during the EA round?

Anyway, good luck to everyone again for the RD round.

I have a feeling they may have deferred a lot of out of state students. Also, in my case, they probably want to see my 7th semester grades before accepting me.

If I recall, last year CHC effectively deferred everybody who applied early. They wanted to be able to look at all the apps together in the RD pool. Not sure if that's going on this year or not.

My D applied early, but due to some problems with a teacher who promised to write a letter and then never did (we don't know why), her whole app got thrown into the RD round. She has since gotten another letter written by a different instructor, and everything looks complete... so we shall see how it all unfolds.

Whether she actually ends up going to UO will depend on acceptance to CHC. But I think things will work out for the best, either way.

"If I recall, last year CHC effectively deferred everybody who applied early. They wanted to be able to look at all the apps together in the RD pool. Not sure if that's going on this year or not."

It seemed liked they were saying that in the letter they sent me.

I applied like 2 weeks ago and UO hasn't even sent confirmation. I'm getting worried.

I was also deferred by CHC. But according to my best friend who's uncle is the head of the computer science department, CHC accepts most of the applicants. Even that same friend who has a 3.25 gpa and a low sat score was told by his uncle that he had a chance if he applied to CHC. I hope his uncle is right...

Aquividens - do you think that's because of a more self-selecting applicant pool? That's weird. Anyway, wish I hadn't spent the time in my more busy months to apply EA if they were just going to essentially defer everyone....and please someone post if they got accepted EA (or rejected...).
