Also im taking 4 ap’s now and took 2 last year and every class i’ve taken in highschool has been honors.

any summer admissions yet?

Haha I’m pretty sure you’re in finally here. Why are you worried. SAT and GPA are good enough b.c your gpa is good.

Kervin - My S’s girlfriend got accepted last Thursday to Summer 2011.

I’m worried because although my weighted gpa is good enough for ucf and usf and even though i have a decent sat and good EC"s my unweighted gpa is atrocious and i wouldn’t accept me to a college with this horrible of a gpa.

Summer people right hurr!!!

LBJrommom what were her stats?

My stats:
UW 2.95

Feedback would be great. also if you got in post stats.

^^^^^you already posted your stats! you should just wait for a decision and stop stressing! plus you already took up like 6 posts so try starting a new thread instead of bombarding this one!

Or you could just provide feedback based on your knowledge and experience and that way i wouldn’t continue to ask.

Okay based off of what I’ve seen so far at my school both this year and last your sat is pretty good and so is your rigor of schedule. A buddy of mine told me that rigor is the most important thing they look at, but Im not completely sold on that. Your ec’s are great which is good because my counselor when to some kind of convention with college counselors from all over florida and said that UCf, USF, and FSU will be shifting more towards hollistic admissions which will in turn give your ec’s more “weight” during the process. The only thing holding you down would be your gpa which is only a 3.09! Seems to me like you either did poorly during freshman year and picked up the pace sophmore and junior year or have been a constant B student throughout highschool, but admissions will like to see an upward grade trend so I guess that might save your gpa “situation”. I think best bet is for summer. I’m not an expert, but I’ve known about 13 or 14 people that’ve been accepted here within the last two years so I’m just using some of their stats as a comparison. Good luck and keep us updated!

Accepted Summer 2011 - her stats are 22 ACT; 3.6 or 7 weighted GPA;strong senior schedule (3.9 GPA this quarter) tons of ECs and leadership positions.

Thank you for the feedback Kervin, I’m sorry for the abundance of my posts on this thread and sorry for the somewhat snobby reply back, thank you though for that information, I’m feeling better about my chances now.

No problem. Keep this thread updated!

I was accepted about a month ago
UCF is my number one choice. Now I’m just waiting for scholarships and working on my honors application.

Stats:
SAT: 1440/2150
ACT: 30
GPA: 4.0
UCF weighted GPA: 4.5
3 AP classes (all 5s) but 4 more this year
Crappy extracurriculars

What are my chances for pegasus gold or the honors college? I hope they only focus on grades and test scores, lol.

sd1799- based on what we learned last week when we visited the honors open house, your grades/test scores are right on target for honors college. They do like to see well rounded folks, but that may matter if test scores are borderline, which yours are not. Be sure to write a good essay - they really do look closely at that. As far as scholarships, UCF doesn’t post guidelines for scholarships, but assume you have a good shot at Gold. My understanding the scholarships are based 100% on GPA/Scores.

I’m applying for the 2011 Summer semester. I am really hoping to get in, though by GPA (at least UW, not sure of my W yet, still need to recalculate) is the creme de la crap.
UW GPA: 2.82
ACT: 27
1 AP class and 1 IB class
ECs: Student government (leadership position), Theater (leadership position), Broadcast radio (leadership position), journalism, and 135+ hours of community service.

Again, I know how bad my GPA is. I do know that colleges like positive trends though. Here are my individual year GPAs:
9th Grade: 2.0
10th Grade: 3.0
11th Grade: 3.1
My last trimester for 11th grade was a 3.43, and I’m on track for a solid 3.5 for the start of my senior year.

I don’t know my class rank, but I am coming from a competitive private school. I am also Hispanic. Don’t know how much either of those help.

They received my transcript on October 20, so I hope to hear from them soon. I know its a reach (though applying for Summer helps). I honestly expect a deferral, if not a denial. I’m hopeful but realistic.

^^^Remember they do recalculate your gpa! Like mine overall is a 3.72, but for UCF its around a 3.66

Just got accepted today.
Applied around a month ago
Stats were 3.65W GPA
Sats 1110 (CR-570, M-540)

I’d like to know also as I’ve heard contradictory things. But so far, I haven’t seen any posts that scholarship $$ has been offered yet.
