Oh jlc128 I’m not an expert, but I think that UCF likes to see either a rigorous schedule, a lot of community involvement, or some fantastic test scores. In your case your sat scores aren’t amazing and your course load isn’t really rigorous, but you have a lot of involvement!! If you sent in your app before November I think you have a reasonable chance, but if not hurry up! Worst case I think you’ll get deferred and asked for better scores( Mine were not great, but I took a lot of honors, and AP stuff!)…Don’t take what I say to heart because I’m not making the decision, but hopefully you’ll at least get into summer if not fall. Good luck! Keep the thread going!

kervin did you apply for fall?! thats great if you did and gives me a lot of confidence…also, I’m taking physics and chinese this year, which regardless being AP or not, are very tough courses! Thanks for the feedback though I’ll let you know when I find out…any day now!

jlc128 I think I got in before you first because I’m instate and I guess Florida colleges favor instate residents over out of state ones second like I said I’ve taken a very rigorous schedule pretty much since 9th grade( if classes don’t have that DE, AP, or Honors tag after it then admissions thinks its easy :(…my senior year schedule is loaded with AP and DE just to show I’m not slacking off)and third I’m well rounded student with a good amount of everything (ECs, scores, gpa, etc) plus my college english teacher said my application essay was one of the best she’s read in a while and that says something because shes a mean old witch<3

I was accepted today actually. (I sent my application in two weeks ago)

@JC don’t sweat it. I think I got in because of my essay. Honestly, I didn’t break 500 in Math and I believe that my essays convinced the admission counselors.

That all is true Kervin, but my whole schedule this year is packed…I don’t have any off periods, and I am taking Physics and Chinese which is a killer, last year I was in sign language as well.

Jlc, you should be a shoe in as long as you’re well rounded in not only academic areas but community service as well as EC’s. What term did you apply for?

You should be fine. It takes about 3-4 weeks from the time you have completed your application in order for it to be processed and reviewed by the admissions department. Please keep us posted with your progress and let us know what college you choose.

My app was complete(full transcript, scores, etc) September 20th. It still says that its under review. Should I call the admissions office monday or wait it out?

Wait it out. I don’t think there’s anything they can do for except confirm that your application is complete. Btw my application was complete around September 29th so you should be hearing back soon!
