Accepted! Fall 2012

Hey guys I just got accepted so I thought I would start a thread! 24 ACT, 3.3 GPA, Lots of ECs! Good luck everyone :)

When did you apply? My son applied August 30th and we’ve not had any change to his status yet. I’m getting nervous! lol

They got everything about 3 days ago. Does the status of the application say ready for review or incomplete items outstanding?

It says ready for review. They have had everything since August 30th. Maybe they are taking those with higher stats first. He only had a 23 on the ACT but a 4.0 weighted GPA.

4.0 is AMAZING  You will get in!! Keep checking this week. I literally checked 4 times today, and 30 minutes between the 3rd & 4th time I was accepted!

25 act 3.4 gpa accepted fall 2012 from Tampa

Congrats everyone!

Ugh. Still no change to my son’s status. I know it’s early but I am getting worried. I see others who applied after he did getting accepted. We thought for sure he would get into FAU since he is right in line with their past applicant stats. FAU is a great match for him so I hope everyday that he is accepted. I’m stressing.

Thanks! Jena you should email admissions

He just sent the admission office an email. If I find out any pertinent information, I will pass it along.

I am confident that you should know shortly after the email back  about a week!

2.78 unweighted GPA, 24 on ACT. From Saint Louis Missouri. I guess I was lucky huh, I am majoring in Criminal Justice and History.

D got on 24 3.8

whats ur major?

Jena62 I too am confused on the process my daughther has been “complete ready for review” since 8/12/2011 and still no decision posted and also sent an email as well on 10/5 but still no response. She has 2.98 GPA with a 27 ACT and just not sure what to make of it at this point

@Nova2012 - I know! It’s frustrating and little worrying to me. My son does not have stellar ACT scores but they are in the range. He also has a 4.0. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to notifications. First I thought they were by date of the application. That does not seem to be the case. Then I thought they were by ACT scores/GPA - that also does not really seem to be the case. In state? Nope. Maybe it’s by last name? Maybe they pick names out of a hat. I really don’t know. lol

JenaS62 glad to see I am not alone as a parent because I was going thru all of the same options as well that you did and I finally gave up on trying to figure out the method to the madness so I like you just think they are picking names out of a hat which is so unfair to students who applied early, but I will keep the group posted on the final outcome and also if I ever get a response to the email I sent to the admission office.

I went to a meeting and was told that the students who are a definite fit with both matching test scores and GPAs for the school are admitted sooner. Those who have a match test score but low GPA (and vice-versa) will take more time. Also the booklet that I received said the mid range of fall freshman last year had a 3.2-3.5 and 23-27 ACT or 1520(I think)-1710 SAT. If you’re not within those then your decision may just take longer. Hope I helped! I think you both will be fine. Good luck  :)

Nova2012 - what letter does your last name begin with? Ours begins with ‘S’. If anyone already got accepted with average scores/GPA with a last name after ‘S’ we can rule out alphabetical order for sure. lol

Mine begins with s lol
