Did his myUCF update from “WAITING ON AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT” or did it stay that way even after the accepted him? Because I submitted my Spark last Friday (so about a week ago) and have had no indication on whether they received it or not. I’m wondering if I will receive an decision any moment now or if that needs to update first.
My ACT was sent Sept 30 and still not showing. All my other schools show “received” and UCF was first one I sent to. I sent an email last week to admissions and they said to wait 3 weeks and if nothing then check with them again. That would be this coming Monday. It’s the only thing I’m waiting for on my application.
It says on their site that they start to give them out in October, a few weeks after acceptance. My S21 has been accepted for about a month now and we haven’t heard. He did just get his acceptance into the honors college today, so we are hoping it is soon.
@1intwo2go in past threads, the first round of merit aid was awarded right after Thanksgiving. And that was the case last year, my son’s portal showed it on Dec 2nd and he received lethe tter a week or so later.
I read in last year’s 2020 scholarship thread that scholarships started coming out the first week of December- to OOS students first, then to in-state students.
My D21 brought her SAT up to 1370 so I hope she’ll get a Pegasus Scholarship.
I looked through several years’ worth of scholarship threads and it’s a bit concerning because a 30 ACT seems to get the Pegasus Gold but a 1370 SAT seems to get a Pegasus Silver (in all of the threads I found since the SAT was re-designed in 2016). These scores are equivalent according to the official SAT and ACT comparison charts, so I can’t figure out why the ACT score of 30 would count for more. It seems that the biggest factor for the Pegasus Scholarships is SAT/ACT from what I read in the previous years’ threads.
D21 would have taken the ACT also, but didn’t due to COVID cancelling the spring/summer tests and so she just concentrated on the SAT.
UCF still has not acknowledged receipt of my D21’s test scores (sent October 4). SPARK is still not showing up either (submitted Oct 11). Has anyone else gotten any updates after these long delays? How long did it take for these items to show up in the portal?
I’m thinking maybe UCF might fall off the list for consideration. I’m not sure how other colleges are able to do things in a roughly timely manner while UCF does not. It makes me wonder how stable their operations are.
Thank you! Yes, we have contacted Admissions and have been told there is an issue with some Florida colleges downloading the ACT scores. We haven’t experienced this with any other college.
My son was accepted 9/18 for the Fall Semester. A few people have recommended starting the Summer term vs the Fall term, as there will be far less people on campus. He will be living on campus. He is young (15) so if he did start summer term, he would not have access to a car as he would not yet have his license. He turns 16 in late July. Anyone heard goo things about starting in Summer?
