Fantastic news! I am thrilled that you got that news. I am experiencing a bit of deja vu, as this exact same thing happened at my house five years ago, at about the same time in May, when my oldest got into Swat. The happiness was phenomenal. Congrats!

Andi,
Looking so forward to hearing good news soon!

Have thought about this overnight. Andi - feel no obligation whatsoever to update us on what happens with your S. Only take support from these voices. All of us who feel the hope for her S, I read somewhere that prayer actually works. Now I am a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, but let's just focus some thoughts....

Wow! I have to say that I am so heartened to have all this support. You've really made my week. Unfortunately we haven't had much positive news and as graduation approaches our emotions are getting increasingly frayed. But we're NOT giving up. Way too stubborn for that. I am still hoping to post a happy message here with lots of Berurah's colors and exclamation points.

Andi, I just wanted to echo the sentifments of the others that preceeded me...I am new to CC, but I must tell you that you and your son are so often in my thoughts. Whatever the outcome, I'd like to say that I am full of admiration for the strength, determination, and grace with which you seem to be handling this painful situation. Your son is so fortunate to have a mother like you, and your openness with this forum has clearly touched the hearts and minds of countless CC members. Wishing you only the very best as you pursue next steps.

I echo Donemom's sentiments... this must be so stressful and difficult for both you and your son. Whatever happens, he sounds like an exceptional person and will shine wherever he goes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed:) Good luck!

i have followed the saga of you and your son and i also am rooting hard for you. i always stop at the swarthmore board to check for an update on your situation. my fingers are crossed.

Dear Andi:
Please feel no obligation to reply during such a strung-out period of time for you and your S. Just know that for many of us, news of your son's well-being matters very much! He is connected to the rest of his classmates here! Life is full of rough patches and irrational episodes but all of us feel a hard-working, talented and beloved senior in high school deserves a golden beginning free of unfair trends and forces. We hope that something truly wonderful is going to happen and soon.

I, too, am hoping for andi's son. I would imagine that the "next round" of waitlisters would hear soon. I'm still waiting to hear from the waitlist Amherst put me on in 1976, the first year they admitted women. :-)
