i had friends with 1400s and 3.1 UW GPA that didnt get into UNC..
But i go to a very competitive school... where 4.3 Weighted GPA is only Top 20%... and 4.6 is Top 10%.

wow that would suck. Me? 1460, 760, 690, 680. 17/242 a few clubs, blah blah,....likely letter...rural NC

My s was accepted, 1480 SAT, 3.8GPA. Accepted at safeties/matches, WL'd at both reaches (Duke and Cornell). Good luck!

you guys im worried i won't get into UNC....I'm instate and at a pretty competitive/smart school.

My GPA is 3.94 Weighted ( was suppose to be 4.0 but can't change it)
I'm barely in the top 20% of my class
SAT score 1820 = 720 Math 580Verbal 520Essay

EC---- keyclub, yearbook, national honors society

I think my weakest area is my GPA but I know it will definitely go up to a 4.15 by January because of my AP classes and stuff. ugh too bad when I apply it will still be a 3.94. I hope UNC will understand that

Tell me if you think i'll get in!!

You should have a pretty good chance if you get good essays and recs. Your SAT's are a little low for UNC. Not being in the top 10% will hurt.

i should do early decision though right? I would of done regular registration but wake county is ending the first block of classes on january 15th so my gpa will be the same when i apply on either dates.

The acceptance rate is about 10% higher if you apply EA than overall, so definately go with EA. If it's your #1 school, then write a letter stating that along with why you would be beneficial to UNC. You won't be a lock, even if you get a higher SAT, but you should have a good shot.

thanks! oh and i forgot to mention my brother graduated from UNC-CH 2 years ago and was a really good student. do simblings help? lol some ppl say they do, some say they don't matter
