Accepted Internally To Wharton! (From CAS)

So I just found out tonight I was accepted internally to Wharton! Feel free to ask any questions that you may have. And before anyone asks I did have BELOW a 3.7. Also this isn't too related but I passed the first actuarial exam yesterday as well if anyone has questions regarding the Actuary minor at Penn.

Congratulations!

How many people applied? How many do you know were accepted from CAS? What is the most important component of your application? Can you tell us a bit about your accomplishments and courseload?

Accepted with less than a 3.6! Very excited… It is possible

wow, congrats! I’m still a sophomore in high school, but wharton is my dream! How many students are accepted internally to wharton each year?

Either the new internal transfer admissions changed dramatically, or there weren’t a lot of applications this year. I know of at least 5 people with below a 3.7 who got accepted this year.

Why internally transferring to Wharton seems relatively easy? Many of my Chinese friends got in…Anyway,do you know how hard it is to transfer from another business school to Wharton? I’m now at Lehigh College of Business and Economics

Wow, congrats!
Do you know how many people applied and how many got in ?
I heard it’s PRETTY competitive…

I am thinking of applying to the College this year ED. I thought about Wharton but I don’t know if I want to do business… Why did you choose to do business, and transfer to Wharton? Just out of curiosity… may help me decide too!

Finance is losing its appeal. UBS cut 40/95 of their first year analysts, Deustche bank is going to cut 1500 from the IBD division, people are getting terrible bonuses, etc. Maybe this is why internal transferring to Wharton wasn’t that difficult this year…

If I wanted to internally transfer to Wharton, would you recommend me doing so by taking easy classes to get a high GPA and risk the chances of not getting in and screwing myself over big time? Or what would be the most practical way to get in through and internal transfer?

What do they look for if you are transferring internally to Wharton? Is it only GOA or do they also have you write an essay and get a teachers recommendation?

GPA, Teachers Rec, Essay, Course Planning Guide for the 4 years.

But I’ll agree it got a lot easier

Mainly, just take a Wharton class or two during your freshman year and write a decent essay of what you want to do with a Business degree.
