We are the last session at NYU and are not even on the website for CAS orientation sign ups. Does anyone know if classes will be filled?

I am planning to take general bio and I need that course and can't have it filled.

unfortunately many classes are full by the time the later orientations come around. however, bio (and chem if you’re planning to do premed) will most certainly be open. you may have to have friday recitations or morning lab but otherwise they always have enough spots. also, if you’re planning on taking a freshman honors seminar, many of them will probably be full. it sucks but it’s only one semester and it should interfere with any major plans you have.

I leave for orientation tomorrow for session E, and I was worried about that. But I’ve heard mixed answers as to whether or not having a late orientation is a problem. Apparently, NYU limits the number of students who can sign up for some courses at the early orientations to make sure there are spots for later ones. On the other hand, I’ve heard that some seminars, like “Impossible Writing,” which is what I wanted to take, fill up really quickly and will be really hard to get into.

My orientation leader told me that first and last sessions get the best picks for classes.

and they only let a certain number of kids sign up for each seminar, so you’re competing against the other session E kids for only 2 or 3 spots, not all the kids from all the sessions.
just sign up early.
