Accepted into CalArts and CCA, unsure which to choose

I got I accepted into both the graphic design programs at CalArts and CCA. I live in the bay area so I've known about CCA for awhile and visited the campus a few times so I've been pretty fond of it (though I haven't taken any classes/summer programs at that school so I can't say I know exactly how the school teaches graphic design). I didn't get the chance to visit CalArts and I'd be lying if I said part of the reason I applied wasn't because of its #8 ranking on 2008 US News' top grahic design programs list.

Could someone vouch for either of the programs? I do realize I should've researched a bit more thoroughly, but if anyone has any insight to the programs it would be really helpful. (Especially if you are/were a student or know someone who was/is a student there) I'd like to know how the schools compare in terms of conceptual and technical education. My ideal would be able to get into the program that has the best balance of the two.

Koella,

You should hop in the car and make the 5 hour drive down to Valencia and visit CalArts. Make an appointment and tour and see what other graphic design kids are doing. Then go back to CCA and do the same.

Visiting both will really help you here!

Congrats on getting to acceptance letters to two fine art programs!

Best of luck,
