<p>I think you should be commended for being a non-traditional student and getting into Columbia in any shape or form. It takes a lot to get into CC in the first place, but it seems like you've had other obstacles and life experiences, and most people who drop out of college with a 3.1 never make it back to a CCC, get a 3.8, and an offer from Columbia. Even if you were in CC, other CC students would talk about you behind your back if you don't have as high a GPA as them, or if you were a legacy, or if you were an athlete - it's certainly not GS-specific. Congratulations, Columbia accepted you because GS students are completely relevant and almost every Ivy has a program like that - you don't get as much financial aid, but your relevance as a student can only be determined by you no matter what school you're in.</p>
<p>bball- I hated it. But it really does happen alot. I think almost 100% of the people know what school you're in, Columbia students really do ask those questions. "Oh she's Barnard, GS, whatever" happens.</p>
