Accepted into Indiana University- Bloomington, but am I in the business school?

I got the email today from Indiana, but it only says I am admitted, not specifying whether or not I made it to the business program. I said on my application that I intended on going to the business school so do I only have admission to the university or the business school as well?

Since I doubt IU admissions people lurk here on CC, it sounds like a telephone call to IU admissions tomorrow will get you the 100% clear answer

If you have the GPA and SAT score here, you are in: https://kelley.iu.edu/Ugrad/Admissions/Future/page39066.html

They’ll send you a letter in a few weeks. I got into Kelley/Hutton with an additional scholarship and I got all of those notifications weeks after I got accepted.

Has anyone else not yet heard back from just regular Indiana?? I applied to IU early action and applied to be a direct admit, but I have not heard back from IU yet?

@froshprospective I was accepted about 3 weeks ago, got my Dean’s scholarship letter a week and a half ago. WIll Kelley take even longer or am I simply not accepted? Kind of getting nervous…

@sgw2021 For me it went Dean’s -> Kelley -> Hutton. It’s super dragged out which is kinda annoying, so keep the faith. If you have those scores on the site you’re in.

Same problem here. My S applied to Indiana university through common app by November 1 for Kelly School of Business Accounting BSB, and got a postal mail today saying he is accepted in Indiana University. But doesn’t mention anything about admission to Kelly school or direct admission. He has the GPA and ACT scores needed for admission. Any idea, how the email or mail to direct admit students reads ?

@SBGB11 Don’t worry, he will get direct admit as long as he applied by November 1, selected a business major, and met the requirements. They should send something in a few weeks for direct admit.

How many weeks between getting admitted and getting notification you got into Kelly? Thx

Usually its between 2-4 weeks from acceptance on the notifications. At least that’s what it seems to be for people we know who have been direct admits.

I think the order must vary. My D has still not heard from Kelley either, though she meets the requirements. It was
Hutton then Dean’s scholarship in that order, though we did receive a nice “Season’s Greetings” email from the school!

@Itzabouttyme same for my son.

@Itzabouttyme that is the same order for me–and I’m still waiting for Kelley confirmation.

@jjrrdd My son just got his Kelley acceptance letter today. It was 5 1/2 weeks between getting accepted to IU and finding out he got into Kelley.

Got accepted into Kelley as Direct Admit. I have applied here as an afterthought as I was leaning more towards Engineering at the time of my application.
I’ve got acceptances from Iowa State Engineering and a few other safety schools such as Marquette, Bradley so on. UIUC CoE application is deferred.
Now that I got acceptance from Kelley which is a very reputable Business School I am rethinking whether I should go into Business instead of Engineering (if I get into UIUC CoE).
So finally it may come down to Kelley or UIUC Engineering.
Yes I know one should decide whether Engineering or Business. But I am equally interested in both at this time. Hard to make a decision at age 17. Things can change a lot in life.

The good news is that you can’t go wrong either way. I am a sophomore at IU. Kelley is a great program and I’m very happy that I chose it. I’d be happy to answer questions that you have about it, but I can’t really tell you whether to do engineering or business.

I will suggest something that might help you decide though. Get 2 pieces of scrap paper and write engineering on one and business on the other. Then, crumple them up and tell yourself whichever one you choose will be your actual decision. If you find yourself hoping for one or the other before you choose, or are happy/disappointed with the outcome, it might show you how you truly feel.

@iubaccounting thanks for the suggestion, sounds like an interesting experiment to do
In my high school we didn’t have many business related courses, except the one I am taking currently in senior year: AP Macroeconomics and I like it. I also liked Physics, Maths and Biology. So at this time it is pretty much a toss up based on my limited exposure.
Good to know that you really like your program.

not sure where to ask but does anyone know how those who petitioned kelley are notified of a final decision?

D received an email followed ~two weeks later by a letter.
