My question is if you get into, let's say Muir, but you get rejected from both your 1st and alt major, what happens then?

My other question is do UCSD seriously consider your alt major if you get rejected form your 1st choice? I know LA and Cal don’t.

Pretty sure at that point, you are admitted as undeclared.

Oh thanks!

I know they consider your alt major if you apply to an impacted major such as BioE or Biology and are rejected.
For those impacted majors, you have to apply to them as your first choice, too

You’ll only be rejected from your 2nd choice major if its impacted (biology and Bio E)

But yeh, you’ll be undeclared

In order to get back into an impacted major, you have to reapply once you’ve completed the lower division requirements for that major.
