Accepted off the Waitlist?

Were any CC'ers contacted today?

still waiting…hopefully wont be too long now
any prediciton on whether washu will go to their waitlist this year?

if i call admissions and ask how many ppl enrolled and how many spot will be available, do you think they’ll tell me?

Highly doubt it ;)

Yes, I rather doubt they’d share that information. What I’m wondering is how many people still are really, really wanting to get in, and would be willing to accept an offer at this point? dozens? a hundred?

idk all i know is i would. i assume it’s not too many because people usually commit to other schools and give up on wait lists

yes I would for sure, I wish I had visited because they waitlisted everybody at my school including those who were using it as ivy safety. I have specific interests and their program is top notch for mine so it makes sense for me wanting to go there. Just wish they see that when they look at my app again

@panserbjorne, love the username. Love His Dark Materials.

does it seem likely that washu will go to their waitlist this year??

I am not sure if there will be spots open. But is there a facebook page where people will post if they are called?

@gunther6456: represent.

I really hope they accept me. sigh.

So far we seem to be less than a dozen though hundreds are watching this thread…I wish Wash U would tell the waitlisted folks what is going on

one more poor soul waiting for the result
i really really really want to go and if i get a call or e-mail ill say yes right away…

^aww I hope you get in!! Im like that with my waitlisted school too…the waiting and anticipation is terrible.

another thing, I heard that WashU’s waitlist is really long, like thousands of students. Does anyone know for sure? It seems hard picking students off such a long list, unless they write an appeal letter to stand out on the waitlist.

I’ve read numbers between 1000 and 12,500 !!! Surely the waitlist cannot be so big although this year UPenn disclosed their waitlist was just over 3000.

Where is ST2 to shed some light on whether there are any chances of waitlist this year?

^^And Duke admitted they have more than 3,200 on their waitlist. They also stated they just didn’t have time to read all the applications so onto their waitlist they went.

my admissions rep said yesterday

"At this time, our enrollment deposits are looking strong for the fall, and we are unsure of whether we will be using our waitlist. We will, of course, keep you informed as we move forward, and you should expect to hear from us soon regarding our decision. Thank you again for your continued interest in WU and your patience during this process. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions. "

This is just anecdotal, but my school’s final statistics for WUSTL are 1/8 for attending/accepted with 10 applications total.

In light of the post by RuskiBear, I will post a PM that I sent out a short while ago: “I don’t want to throw cold water on people’s aspirations in a public forum. But in a PM I will let you know that due to the very high conversion rate this year, it does not look all that promising for the WL this year. In a normal year, the first WL calls would have gone out a few weeks ago. Still may happen, but later and in smaller numbers than in past years.”

I guess I’ll take that division 1 fencing offer then.
