I received a call last night from my Vanderbilt Admissions Rep., actually quite late, 9pm, and talked to him again this afternoon. I've been admitted to Vanderbilt off the waitlist!!

Congrats! that's awesome! are you going to go?
I can't believe he called that late!! what did he say when he called anyway?

That's great news. Haha, y'all must have thought he was a telemarketer.

Where are you from? Are you an hour ahead of Nashville time? Or maybe the rep figured 9 was a good bet to catch kids after all their EC's. In any case, congratulations!

Congratulations and what a relief, if you would please share details like school of study and how much did you contact them?? we are waiting.......

Hey that happened to me, too! Last thursday they called me, and told me once I received the admissions packet, I have a week to give an answer. Same scenario for you?

Anna Molly, it was probably one of the more awkward conversation I've ever had in my life. He called my house phone and then my cell phone twice before I answered, and I was greeted by, "Hi, how would you like to come to Vanderbilt?" I honestly was almost asleep (AP test the next day), and was like, what? It was quite an informal conversation, he was using slang such as man and asked me to refer to him by his first name. During the whole conversation, he sounded FRANTIC for some reason.

Kelsmom, the rep said he was actually in NYC at the same doing something or another for Vandy. I live in Florida.

JAKNd, I was accepted to the College of Arts of Sciences, and I didn't contact ANYONE at all. I simply sent a very very short two paragraph letter, very well written and catchy, but that was it. It was less than a half a page.

I received the admissions packet on Saturday and have until the 15th to decide. I haven't made up my mind between William and Mary and Vandy.

yeah my friend was admitted off the waitlist...we thought she was going to get in regular decision! she had a 32 ACT, 4.6 GPA, 2 varsity sports (could play at DII or DIII level), lots of APs, all 4+. but yea she is going to CAS

CAS Here, GPA 3.6 SAT 1530 (M+CR), and some okay EC's

tim45
thanks for the info and congrats!
twin Ds waitlisted ...one got a call for engineering
the other is waiting for CAS

How long should we wait for....like when do we have an idea that were more than likely not getting in, what's the time frame?

From what I've read, Vanderbilt's Class of 2012 is pretty much full.
