does any1 kno when that typically comes in the mail?

Do you live in Russia or Boston? Just wait for it.

As I recall from two years ago when my son applied, it took a very long time to arrive so don’t worry. I remember even calling Brown because there was no deposit form or anything and all my friend’s kids were getting packets in the mail with depostit forms to fill out. It came in late winter/early spring-there was a medical form and a housing questionaire (questions like are you a neat freak or messy, what are your music tastes, early riser or sleep late-things so they could pair you with someone similar), and some other forms that needed attention. You had a few months to get it all back to them. Congrats to all who were accepted ED!

wolf – waiting is no easy task. lighten up on these guys.

I never mentioned the ease of waiting. It’s just you’re only choice. It comes when it comes.

i know but people want information, they want answers. waiting in the dark is hard.

I’m sure they also want to be accepted and go to college for free but we aren’t dealing with wants we are dealing with a place called reality. The place where the mail is God and you are but a feeble human waiting for a folder. I’m just reinforcing my point - you have no control. Let it happen as it will. I know better than to ask for dates on things being shipped. Too many years working in shipping logistics.

look we could argue this stupid point all day. I’m just saying don’t freak out at people when they want to know if there’s a way to find out when it’s coming. It’s human nature, so relax.

“Do you live in Russia or Boston? Just wait for it.”

Freaking out? I’m afraid not. The OP didn’t post where they are so how is anyone to know? Also there are delays in shipping. Either way you are essentially telling me I am not allowed to give advice according to knowledge I’ve gained through experience…which is silly. I’m on a different wavelength on this one and you’re not really getting anywhere with your current argument.

Not that it matters.

What’s funny is that when I was accepted (RD) us international students got the packets first because they were sent via a parcel service - so Russia would be before Boston :-)

Your comment sounded very much like a mocking one. “Russia or Boston? Whatever, wherever, shut up and wait”

My argument is fine, because my argument is that you shouldn’t use the fruits of your experience to berate others, which is what you are doing. You need to learn how to express said advice in a much nicer way to these clearly incredibly stressed out people. If you don’t have any answer to their actual question, and just have your own glorious advice, maybe you should just stay out of it. And for what it’s worth, many times schools give out exact dates by which you can expect your letter, and that’s probably what the OP was asking for.

Thanks for the glorious advice, but maybe you should just stay out of it.

I’m not giving you advice, I’m asking you to be nice to super stressed out i’m-waiting-for-my-rejection-or-acceptance letter. What is your insistence on being hostile?

i’m-waiting-for-my-rejection-or-acceptance-letter people*

I’m not being hostile I’m just not going to agree with you since I don’t think I’m not being nice to begin with. And I can see the argument you are making I just don’t agree with it so I’m not sure where you are trying to go with this.

Maybe I’ll put a smiley face at the end of all my posts to appease you :)

Play nicely, children
A good thing is that Brown (last year anyway) did not require a deposit! And, the above posters are right-- it will come. Probably already has come by this writing, or will come today. Just imagine how bored you will be by the whole process until late spring when the rest of the info comes in the mail. You will have a lot of time to re-read The Packet when it finally comes. Savor the anticipation!

wow, the smiley face alone did it!!!

lol.
