Accepted Penn State Students to Other Penn Campuses

Hi Everyone - I thought it would be nice to have a thread available to all those accepted Penn State students who are going to other campuses besides UP. I'll start:

My d is OOS and will be going to the Berks campus for 1 year and then to UP for her sophomore year. She was accepted to the Nursing program. We were disappointed at first that she is not starting at UP. However, after visiting Berks, she loved it and knows it will be a nice way to transition in to college life.

I thought you have to stay for 2 years before going to UP campus.

Not for nursing, the sophomore classes are only offered at UP.

Most majors do require 2 years at a satellite campus. Students in the Nursing program, however, are only required to stay for 1 year ....which is my concern. I would prefer she did 2 years so she'll have time to adjust and enjoy the school. Instead she'll have to re-adjust again at UP after 1 year. Then the major also requires her to spend her 3rd year at the Hershey campus. So if anybody has any experience going from one campus to another like this, I would really like to get some feedback. My d doesn't seem to be bothered by it...but I'm afraid when those time comes for to move, she may be disappointed. Any thoughts out there is very much welcomed!! Thanks!

well, at least in her 3rd year when she goes to Hershey, she will be going with other students from her program at UPark. Shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks chocoholic! That makes sense especially when there's only about 90 nursing students in her 2011 class.

Anyone out there going to Penn State Abington outside Philadelphia?? I have housing available for two students. Live 10 minutes by car from campus in a really nice, safe neighborhood and have hosted both Penn State and international students here over several years. Contact me directly if interested.

Also a short walk to Jenkintown train station where PSU-Abington offers shuttle buses to campus all day!

how can i get to your property from philadelphia if i don't drive, please? i mean, how can i arrive by SEPTA trains or bus? Thank you.
