Accepted Portfolios

I know there's already been a thread for this, but it's way too old and I figured it may have been a good idea to have this back up here.

If you were accepted into an art's college, post the portfolio that got you in and what school! Any helpful information such as the types of pieces recommended to put into a portfolio and other information, include it.

I got accepted to Art Center College of Design with advanced standing for illustration (not sure if it has anything to do with portfolio). Currently waiting on RISD/SCAD/SVA and Art Center’s financial aid letter.

Just a few examples.

Really, they want to see 90% of your portfolio as life drawing/painting. The rest you can fill with ideations of your sketchbook, or imaginative illustrations. Art schools love figure drawing, they eat that stuff up. Don’t draw form photographs, and make sure to make your pieces finished as possible. Don’t leave any half-assed pieces in. I felt like I didn’t finish a few and some (including on that DA link) I feel were a bit half-arsed.
