Accepted - post stats here

I am late to post, but I told myself I would only post stats after all colleges have made their decisions on me. Since this is now true, I give you this…

SAT: 790 Math, 740 CR, 800 Writing
SAT II: Math II 800, Physics 800
GPA: 3.69 something UW but the system is dumb, and a 90-92 = 3.333…, 93-96 = 3.6666…, 97-100 = 4.0, etc down through the Cs and 0-69 = 0
Rank: 9 of 560

Essay: Not very polished. At all. But I’m a quick writer so I dunno.

State: TX
School: Public
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male

Seriously considering this school. It’s this versus UT.

I would go to UT unless Tech is giving you a ton of money. The quality isn’t that different, and in-state UT would be a lot cheaper.

No. Huntsville, Alabama. Sorry, I’m late :[

International student (India)
Intended Major: BME
SAT: Math-760, CR-530, Writing-690 (1980 total)
SAT II: Math level 2 – 760
Toefl ibt: 110/120
Josef Silny GPA: 3.72
IB Diploma student: Predicted grade: 39/42
Subjects: Math HL, Chem. HL, Bio HL, Physics SL, French ab. & Eng. SL
Rank: 4 out of 90
Essay: Very Good according to me (indicating my interest in BME on the topic how I would utilize my time if taking a gap year)
Decent EC’s (summer internship related to BME in hospital for 2 years, community service, MUNs, winner of state quizes etc.)
I think my not so good SAT score was compensated by good IB grades with a tough science combination & interest in intended major.

Major: Mathematics of some sort
GPA: 3.96/4.713
Rank: 4/81
SAT: 1530/2260, 800 M, 730 R, 730 W
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 710 Physics
ACT:31 CR, 34 ENG, 35 M, 36 S = 34 Composite

Im deciding between here and FSU… I want a social life, idk if gatech is the best place for that.

If you mean girls specifically…then yah FSU would probably be better for you.

ha FSU and tech don’t even compare academically. come to tech and join a fraternity you will have plenty of fun, i promise

If he’s in-state for Florida and has a certain ACT score, he can go to FSU for free. That doesn’t make it such an easy decision.

Improved SAT score was nearly 2000, was sent to other colleges.
Sent, way lower scores to GT and got still accepted!!!
GPA was UW 3.97 and W was 4.30.
Got accepted to GT but will not be attending.

GT is notorious for placing more weight on GPA than on SAT. G/L where ever you go.

SAT: 800 Math
80 Writing
650 Reading

SAT II: 800 Math II
800 Math I
750 Physics

GPA: 3.75 with 13 APs & Multivar, LinAlg, and soon Diff Eq

I’m going to disagree with G.P. on GT being notorious for putting more weight on GPA than SAT. For years, GT has taken very bright kids with lower GPAs in order to jack up the SAT average. That seems to have changed just this year, given the number of people recently complaining about not getting in with higher test scores and lower grades. They were surprised by the shift in priorities from GT. With 10% more apps this year, Admissions could have jacked the SAT average even higher, but it looks like they put more weight on grades.
