Accepted Regular Decision Today - Dean Scholarship?

Hey guys-
I was accepted to the Honors program just an hour ago, and received a Dean Scholarship from a specific department dean for $20k.

Does anybody know how rare these scholarships are? Like, how many students get them from each Dean? Pretty curious.

Also, was anyone else accepted? My friends still haven't gotten emails.

I just got a 20k Dean’s scholarship too an hour ago! How do you know that you got into the Honors program?

Hey, it says so in my notification page. It’s kind of buried in the text, and doesn’t pop out, but it’s in the second line:
"In recognition of your exemplary record of academic and personal achievements, I also want to invite you to join Northeastern’s highly selective University Honors Program. "

I just got accepted, too! I’m also in the Honors program. Congrats, rosencratz and Thomas29. :)

Has anyone gotten in regular without the honors invite? Ps is it just an email or through your application status check

I received an e-mail to check my admissions decision on their website. The e-mail didn’t reveal the decision.

Likewise. An email which told me a decision had been made.

Dean Scholarship’s are the most common of all of the scholarships offered by Northeastern. If you don’t get a Trustee, NMF, “Scholars Program” or other specifically named scholarship, it’s a Dean’s.

Congratulations to those of you who were the recipients of this e mail. I, too, have been accepted into the Honors Program with a Dean’s Scholarship. I wish there was some way to find out if this is the final scholarship offer I will receive. I am a National Hispanic Scholar with pretty good stats (2290 SAT, 35 ACT, Valedictorian, well rounded) and was hoping for a full tuition scholarship. Also, does this mean I have no shot at the new Scholars Program?

Northeastern is apparently doing things differently this year. Last year all RD decisions came out the same day in mid-March. Now it appears that top applicants are being notified early. Some people who were accepted EA in December with a Dean’s scholarship were notified a while ago that it was being replaced with the full tuition Scholars offer. I believe $20,000 is the max Dean’s Scholarship. As for National Hispanic Scholarship, you may want to call Admissions and check on the requirements.

I was just notified that I’m into the Honors College and a Dean Scholarship recipient too… what’s the difference between the Honors College and the Scholars Program?

Honors College is top 10% of applicants. Scholars looks to be about 50 people (they claim top 1 or 2 % of applicants).

I got accepted into the honors program too  Did NU notify you about the Dean scholarship in the application check website?

When did all of you apply? I was expecting a similar decision from NU, but haven’t heard anything yet… I just went into my status checker, and my application has been complete for a while, although my midyear report wasn’t received until 2/14 (my school takes 2 weeks after midterms to prepare and send them, which my counselor explained). I’m trying not to stress too much :p

I sent my application in on December 27th! I did not make it into the Honors program (probably my 1600 SAT Score’s fault haha)

I sent my application in on the absolute lastt day and just got my acceptance yesterday
Accepted Honors, Bouve Health Sciences, with a $10,000 scholarship
Which is a significant amount but I’m still kind of disappointed I didn’t get a bit more because the tuition is quite pricey

I applied regular and I got a Dean’s scholarship of 16K

also… I know this is a really stupid question but I kind of panicked for a second. I accidentally went ahead and made myNEU account, but that doesn’t mean I’ve officially committed and enrolled into NEU right? Only if I sign the agreement form in the Self-Service tab, it means that I’m enrolled, correct?

You need to pay the tuition deposit to be enrolled. I assume (but can’t remember) the “agreement form” is for record keeping purposes because NUPay kind of is terrible. But even if you fill out a form (or email someone, or anything) you can’t go until you pay the tuition deposit.

Did any national merit finalists get it? Me and a friend of mine who both applied didn’t get notified in this time period, and think it might be due to the fact we get honors college and full tuition by default, but it’s sort of freaking me out. I should get in… but the fact neither of us did in this “top 10%” round bugged us.

Yeah Hyungry Froad i had the same thing as a nmf. I did get honors and dean but i was hoping for full.
