Countrykickboxer, looks like you’re getting a second chance with FSU. It is VERY ODD how they reject her, but then offer her to take the SAT on JANUARY 23 when their SAT scores are deadlined 14-FEB.

January Sat scores won’t be available for them until mid-end of March.

oolopooli, Your GPA isn’t too bad. SAT scores are horrible tho. Are you planning on taking the January SAT?

Rec. Letters, i think you can get them if you ask nicely.
Essay: I heard they ask you to write two essays, from their selected topics. I’m looking into that soon.

Dymecaker305, I’m not taking the SAT again. I’m planning on taking the ACT though.
I do have good RECS…about 4, also did the essay…which my guidance counselor told me I don’t have to send them if they’re not requested.
I filled out UCF app. but im debating which term i should apply for, since my test scores aren’t that good

My daughter got a letter from UNF yesterday stating she was deferred. She just took the ACTs yesterday again for the second time and will be taking the SAT’s for the third time in January. Se did not participate in many extra activities previously since she had no way to get home. She now drives and in two activities. She now has around 60 community hours and has participated in a few fund raising drives. I am concerned since she was deferred from all the colleges she applied, although we are still waiting for FGCU as we just applied. Are there any colleges she cold still apply to, in Florida, where she may meet the requirements?

Thanks Seiclan. I just looked at their middle range GPA and test scores - 920 for SAT which she got a 940 and her gpa is 2.75 of 3.05 weighted. Thanks. We are going to do that today. I’ve spent a fortune on these SATs, ACTS, sending test scores and application fees!

Conch10- No problem! It seems like they’re deferring more people than offering them summer term though. Can he change it to summer term? Tell him to call the admissions office! Certainly want to be sure that UCF accepts him before missing out on USF!

oolopooli- I would apply for summer term if I were you. With your test scores, it’s unlikely that they will accept you for fall term.

Dymecaker- They only ask you to write one essay, but to address two topics out of the four that they give you.

Also, I think that if your stats are on the fence, you definitely need to write an essay. I think that’s what got me in, I don’t know…

Calm down everyone! Things will soon fall into place Good luck!

mizzxvii: he said he’s going to call tomorrow and find out either if he can switch it or see if theres the possibility that they would just offer him summer. We will see
And another question that you might be able to help me with, if i happen to get deferred, can i switch my term to summer before they let me know their final decision for fall?

Conch10- I actually think you can. I remember reading somewhere in this forum that a certain student applied for fall and got deferred, but she didn’t want to re-take the SAT/ACT, so she asked them to just reconsider her for summer term, and she got in. What are your stats?

I’m not an admission representative, so anything I say are just my opinions based on what I’ve read. Read everything with a pinch of salt!
