Accepted/Rejected 2010

JTaylor104 - well, we applied end of July, before they were even looking at applications yet, so I don’t know how long it really took…but thinking my daughter was in the first “pile”…I think the website says within like 3 or so weeks? I could be wrong !!

Hey JTaylor, 23 is a very good start for your ACT. Comparatively its higher than your SAT and is a solid score, and I guarantee that if you study a little and retake the ACT you can only go up from there.

jankrav I believe your son has very good stats and should consider applying to the honors college. same goes to you futureknight. it offers plenty of benefits and so far I love it. If anyone has any questions regarding the honors college or the application process, feel free to ask me (:

My sister attends so I’ve been and love it!!

I applied for summer because I Wanted to make sure i’d get in and I like the idea of being there already and being ready

jankrav-Wow! That was fast for your son and congrats to him! However, I don’t think he had anything to worry about with those scores =)

UCF finally got everything (including my transcripts) this past Friday 9/25 and I keep checking back, but I doubt they’ll respond this early! Once again, congrats to your son!

JTaylor-That’s not bad at all…especially for your first time. My score was kind of messed up because during my science section on the ACT, people were having a party outside with loud music. Our proctor tried to stop it, but it was impossible!

futureknight- CONGRATS!!! I am so happy for you. I am sure you’ll have a great time at UCF=)

Still keeping my fingers crossed…for both me and all you guys!

Oh and Mizzxvii- Stop stressing…don’t get me worried all over again lol =P. You’ll be fine and they will surely accept you for summer =). If you are that worried, just take the ACT or SAT again!

thank you everyone for being so nice! and i am retaking the ACT on oct.24th

futureknight congrats on your acceptance!i hope i am as lucky as you.

just hoping they get the ACT score soon and admit me cause i hate waiting forever for them to get it. does anyone know if you can rush order the score to the college once the writing part is scored?

I’m finally getting someone to revise my essay!! Hopefully I’ll be able to have everything all done and set by the end of this week. I’m also re-taking the ACT this October, WITH studying this time! I hope it pays off!

Good luck to everyone again! Hope we all get accepted!

mizzxviii have you applied yet?

God no D: I know I should have applied long ago, but I had to wait on my ACT scores and all that stuff, so I decided to delay it a little. I just signed a request form to send out my transcript to two schools though. Still working on my essay… Do you guys know if they send out the scores to Colleges yet? If you took the writing, do they wait for that and send all of it out later or what??

yes they wait for the writing scores thats why i am so frustrated i wish that they would just send everything else and than you get your writing score sent instead off having to wait. you do not have to wait to get your scores back in order to apply they will just look at your scores once you send them. what did you get on you ACT?

I received my writing score yesterday. Made a 8. Composite score on the ACT is a low low low low low 20 ._. Knew I should have studied…

Trying to raise it by 4-5 points in 3 weeks… lol

I just need my essay and I should be good to go… This next ACT test will either help or break me. Talk about pressure!

Chance me. Core academic GPA= 3.66 (based on UCF’s calculations), Class rank 10/281, involved in 2 clubs Junior year, and was VP of one. Currently Chapter President of one club this year. About 75 hours community service hours. First generation. Asian. Don’t even feel like mentioning my SAT again. Also, will have graduated with 6 AP classes, and 6 honors.

Should I apply for summer or fall? I’ve decided that I can work with attending summer term. I was going to apply fall, so if they don’t accept me for fall, hopefully they’ll offer me summer, but I don’t know… What if they just defer me? Will I be risking the chance of getting into summer if I wait too long, since this school does rolling admission? Gah!

i got my writing to got a 9 so my writing score was a 25 which is dissapointing because my SAT writing was a 610 oh we…

mizzxvii your class rank is #10?! do you live in fl cause if so you would be in the top 20% so you would be gurantee to a FL university. true your scores are low but your GPA is solid. honestly i think you should apply for fall and than see if offered for summer admisson. you will deff get accepted to at least one of them though.

Hey, you did good for the first time around- stop stressing yourself out!

Yes, my class rank is #10 out of 281 students. The only reason for that is because I go to a school with a bunch of kids that doesn’t care about their education at all. I don’t think class rank goes into play that much though.

And I do live in Florida, but I don’t want to get accepted to ANY University… I really want to get into UCF! Sighs Why am I such a horrible test taker? D;

I wonder if there’s any scholarships available for being in the top 5% of my class, lol.

Thanks for the encouragement! I hope you get accepted too!

omg i stress as much as you do lol like everyone keeps telling me ``shut up you’ll get in’’ lol. BUT thats true its not the university of your choice but im sure you get differnt options not enitrely sure how it works.everyone at our school is so uber competitive its not even funny.

Im sure you can easily find a scholorship for that. I am not even looking at scholarships though untill i get accepted somewhere cause that would be a waste of energy.

i hope we both get in. im just mad cause for some reason i can not open any folders on my computer and myucf pin is in there so i cant check y application status than again i dont need to check it every 3 hours lol. but as of today its been two weeks

bites nails nervously

I’m a…

UCF just recieve all my documents (minus my FAU transcript, which doesn’t have much on it as the semester hasn’t ended yet) last week Friday or this week Monday, hoping to get a reply real soon! I’m just worried about financial aid (specifically, scholarships) more than anything else, as my family makes over $80K, but most of it going to bills and whatnot…

Taylor- Have you figured out the UCF GPA yet? Your UW is kind of low, but I’m sure your AP/honor classes will help you out! I’m not stressing about it anymore… it’s just pointless to stress about something I can’t really control. I’ve tried my best (kind of) these last few years, so hopefully it’ll work out in the end. But if I don’t get accepted into UCF, I’ll just go to another school, it’s fine with me. Though it will break my heart!

Bonafide- Nice stats! I’m sure you’ll get accepted for sure, and soon too! Try to apply for the honors program also!

I’m so mad though! I requested to send in my transcript and totally forgot to turn in like 40+ community service hours!! Too much going on these days, that I’m starting to forget things.

OMG i forgot to put my communtiy service hours on the transcript however i did mentioniit in my resume. and no i have no idea where i can go to figure out my UCF GPA?

Well, I had my counselor look up the Bright Futures GPA for me, and they calculate the core classes- so about the same thing as UCF. I’m sure you can do it yourself though… There’s also another site that calculates it for you, but I forgot =/

My son submitted his application 3 weeks ago and UCF had everything but his transcript. Our High School took a long time to send them out.Within a day of them receiving his transcript he was accepted. What that means is that they obviously review things as they come in as opposed to waiting for the entire package

Congrats to your son, Gailbeth! Mind sharing his stats?

Do you have to apply into the honors program when you submit your app or decide once you get accepted? What is the OOS GPA they look for the honors?
