alongwait- I know!!! I am sooooo excited lol. Even though it’s pretty far (being from NJ and all) my parents are definitely considering it. UCF and Rutgers are my top choices and I love both of the schools soo much! Now it’s a matter of me getting into the other school as well as FAFSA. But I really can’t hold still!! It feels like a huge weight has been lifted and I am just sooo happy !!! =) =) =)

quick question…do I click “accept” only if I am totally sure I am going to UCF?

Im still waiting on an official response. if my application status says “An initial, official, transcript has been received. Please request that your high school send an official, final, copy after high school graduation to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions”, have i been accepted? Or does everyone get this

BigBluee- that is just a status saying they recieved your transcript. It does not mean you have been accepted. However, if you have submitted everything, it means that UCF can finally look at your application. How long has it been since you sent out your application? It took me a little more than 3 weeks to get a response! Good luck! =)

You don’t need to click accept until May 1st I believe. Once you are sure, then do it. The housing selection will open up in early November. In order to get decent housing I would suggest you sign up for that once it opens up if you really think you are going there though. Normally most people can get housing, but if you are picky on room choice then it would be worth doing the deposit for that. If you look under the Housing section it will explain the whole thing.

Thanks love2laugh. I submitted my application about 3 weeks ago, followed by the check the next week and they just received my transcript.

congrats love2laugh! Let us know what Rutgers’ decision is!

It’s sooo exciting getting that first acceptance!!!

Post any questions you have, I have a D at UCF and we are from Jersey, too!

BigBluee-No problem! I hope you get in =)

JerseyShoreMom- Thank you!!! I will surely let you know on the Rutger’s decision and it is so exciting that I still can’t stop thinking about it! =) And thank you! I probably will have loads of questions to ask later on. However, next week some UCF reps are coming up from Orlando to a town near me, so I’ll be meeting them!! While I’ll get informed with as much material as possible, I’m pretty sure I’ll be asking you about the atmosphere, adjustments, and the life down there for an out of stater! =)

Thanks again =)

alongwait- With the dorming options and such, can I sign up for it before I click “accept” or should I just wait until I am like 90-100% sure I’m going? Thanks for the info!

you are not accepted until you see it say “CONGRATULATIONS! You have been accepted…” when checking MyUCF.

I remember last year when D was waiting and waiting for a decision and one night we were debating on whether she would concentrate on Purdue (which she had been accepted to earlier in the day) or UCF. When she logged in to MyUCF that night and saw “CONGRATULATIONS!” we both cried!!! What a wonderful feeling to be accepted to your #1 school!

Congrats to all!!

As far as dorm and accepting, I believe you have to accept enrollment and put in your $200 non-refundable deposit before you can put down a dorm deposit. Since she started in Summer, she had to put a dorm deposit down for Summer AND Fall.

As far as moving out for the two weeks between Summer and Fall, here is some helpful information: [UCF Housing and Residence Life | Calendar](http://www.housing.ucf.edu/movein/index2.php?id=53)

you do not need to “accept” in order to make a residence hall deposit.
Housing applications (the website says) will be avail in early Nov.
;-)

Last year the DEADLINE to apply for Fall 2009 housing was January 30, 2009. The deadline for Fall 2010 is not up yet but assume it’s around the same time. It may even be earlier because last year housing opened up in December, this year it opens in November. If you are interested in living on campus, DEFINATELY keep an eye out for the housing deadline date. If you wait until after that deadline date, you will be put on a waitlist.

TSMom-Congrats to your son!!! Gosh…UCF seems a popular choice for Jersey people lol. Is UCF your son’s number one choice?

gatorcrazy-Congrats!!!

To all those who got in…it must feel amazing! (well, that’s how I felt this past Tuesday lol). Hope you guys choose UCF and if not, hopefully you guys get into your top choice schools!

i was wondering the same thing. how come UCF is so popular for New Jersey people lol

also to people who have attended do you recommend that you bring a car freshman year?

JTaylor- Hmm…I don’t know about other Jersey people, but for me UCF had many of my needs. It’s a big university, has a beautiful campus, amazing new med school, and is pretty affordable when it comes to tuition cost. Compared to our state school, Rutgers, UCF is around the same price. Also, I have family close by (like 20 minutes from the campus). In general, UCF is beautiful, a great new school to go to for college, and it’s in Orlando (you’ll never be bored!) =)

ACCEPTED: FALL 2010 (two weeks ago)

Will I be offered any merit scholarships?
If so, when?
Do I have to click on “ACCEPT” to be considered for any money?
Do I have to submit $200 before I know what they are offering?
Does applying (and being admitted) to the Honors College have any effect on scholarships offered?
