Actually, Lake Claire is open for the summer. The only housing complexes that are closed for the summer are Apollo and Libra.

Hmm…not aware of that. Are they only open for Summer A or all summer? Do you know if freshman can live in them? Also, D is a freshman living in Lake Claire now. If she attends Summer A, do they make her change her room for the 6 weeks?

alongwait, im not sure about the rules for who can live where duing the summer, but I do know that summer is a separate contract. So even if second year students were allowed to live in lake clair for the summer (not sure if they are), your D would most likely have to move to a different room because its a separate process from when the rooms were assigned for fall & spring. For towers however, you get to keep your room during the summer since you must sign a 1 year lease.

Edit: I just checked and yes Lake Claire is open for all three summer sessions. the only housing not open during summer A is Towers since people who signed the year lease from Fall will still be there.

thanks for the info!

Deferred for further evaluation and all of that nonsense. =/

I can’t really blame them though, figuring I only had a 2.9 weighted GPA. I’m actually surprised they even waitlisted me with such a low GPA - I should probably be relieved if anything i suppose. My stats were

2.9 GPA weighted
25 ACT (only took it once, 31 on the reading and 20 on the math =/)
AP English comp test - 4
AP U.S. History test - 3

I’m currently enrolled in 3 A.P courses, and physics honors. I slacked off my entire sophomore year and fell into the wrong crowd, bringing my GPA to a 2.0 at one point. Decided to jump from regular courses to A.P courses my Junior year, and my grades skyrocketed for some reason; unusual, I know. Right now I’m outscoring nearly every student in the top of the class in terms of testing, and know that I’d make a good college student, which disappoints me that I may be rejected. I guess I’ll take my ACT again since I have a full year of chemistry behind my belt now as well as some Physics and trig. Any other advice or thoughts? =/ And what are my chances that they may accept me or offer me admission to their summer classes?

just get your gpa to like a 3.5 weighted if possible. ur ap test scores are pretty good though. ACT is good too. my reading was the same only my math was a 18 so i ended up getting a 23. just resend your 1st semster grades and u should be good:)

Are students considered for automatic scholarships (say in Engineering)…received acceptance, but no idea on scholarships

the only UCF scholarsihps that you’re automatically considered for is the Peagsus scholarships. Any other scholarships specific to a college like the college of engineering, you would have to check on that college’s website and actually apply.
