I can't believe I'm asking this, since it's kind of embarrassing. I want to drop a full year course (AP GOVT) before my second quarter ends on tuesday. I got an A- last quarter.

I've been accepted by Stanford; Can anyone strongly recommend me not to or let me know that it is ok to drop it? I still have three other AP classes, if that makes a difference.

hm...I'm not sure that it's not a big deal if I have to give them a call.

just to clear something to get more responses for my dilemma: I don't plan to take the 2nd semester off! I just want to drop that specific class.

You don't think they maybe maybe won't notice or will just let it slide? It's so frustrating. I really want to drop the class (it's a VHS class by the way) but I'm afraid.

It's just this class! I will still work hard for the rest of the year! <-- i'm obviously pushing for a certain response here for comfort. Just ignore it and let me know what you think will happen if I do drop it

cjj419, I think you must have been too excited to read your acceptance email all the way through, :) but it specifically says that you should consult them before making changes to one's course schedule...

Is it worth it to drop? Perhaps you could just not take the AP exam, but continue with the course?

dont do it and dont ask! you wanted to present yourself one way to get accepted now that you are, be who you said you are otherwise you will have misrepresented yourself

i wouldn't even call them....you're letting them know firsthand that you're either a slacker or that it's too much for you to handle. keep the class. or risk being rescinded
