Accepted Smeal Student has some questions:

I am about 99% sure that I will be attending PSU and plan on double majoring Finance and Mathematics. I have a few questions and any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I have decent stats (2/160, 1300 SATs, 4.2 W GPA), but I didn’t feel that I was anywhere good enough for the honors program so I didn’t bother applying. The thing that I am worried about is that with so many students it seems like only the honors students are able to get the top internships, job opportunities, etc. Do you feel that is the case or do you think that PSU tries to help every student?

What are the average stats for the students accepted into the Sapphire program and what are the benefits to this?

I applied for the Business and Society Special Living Option in North Halls. Is this hard to be accepted for?

How difficult is it to double major between different colleges? I will be double majoring between Smeal and Eberly (i.e. Math and Finance).

bump - I'm was wondering about the stats too

I want to know average stats for the saphire program too. I know someone who's in it but I'm sure he doesn't know.

I don't think they publish stats for the Sapphire program.
Generally, Schreyer is about 1400 (old SAT) and close to 4.0 UW.
Sapphire stats are a bit lower - but not sure how much. Only 80 kids though.
I know plenty of non-honors kids who got good internships and jobs. You need to do well, be assertive and get involved though.
Don't know about the housing or double majors.
Good luck!
