Honors: NM finalist, Presidential Scholars Program candidate, stuff with math field day team, class superlative-"Most Likely to Succeed" (cheesy, I know), already named valedictorian</p>

<p>D was accepted into Oxford Scholars; disappointed that she didn't get honors. If she goes there, it would be as a double major. Without priority scheduling, not sure she can do it. Waiting on money (expecting some for music, possibly some for "high achieving out of state") - if the money is good enough to off-set a 5th year, it still may be doable.</p>
<p>Class rank and GPA are "made up" by counselor, since this is her first year in US high school: Class rank 91/750, GPA 3.6. </p>

<p>I applied EA so I heard back in feb. I live in a suburb of indianapolis so I am an out of state applicant. I do have 2 brothers who went/go (1 graduated and ones a junior) there. I don't know if that helps at all but I believe my stats are above avg.? so i was not really that worried.</p>

<p>Wow, I live in Ohio and never thought about people around me this way. There are different people in the different parts of the country, not all people are the same.
As to Miami, my both daughters rejected it last year. For them it was too preppy, too homogenious and too rural. Preppinest is easily correlated with the "conservative", not sure about insular and patriotic though...
