Accepted Student Celebration- April 8

Is anyone from here going to the Accepted Student Celebration on April 8?
Right now RPI is my most likely choice, so I'll be going back up there for the day.

My D will be going for the day before checking out Hartwick.

I'll be there to check it out. I'm going to be pre-med, so I hope I find the university has a good science program.

My D will not be going to the Accepted Student Celebration. It seems every school she's been accepted to has a "celebration" on April 8th. She has to prioritize which one she wants to see. Have fun everyone!

My son will be attending - second visit. He attended the Medalist visit in September and was very impressed but has some additional things to look at this time.

This week Accepted Students Day is the end of GM week, so everyone should still be pretty active around campus. I'd recommend walking around freshman hill/Commons/Union on your own and asking students questions, and maybe even tour the lecture halls, library, etc

What is GM week? I read about apathy on the part of some of the students. Do many or most of the students participate in activities on campus?

Grand Marshal week, focused on student elections and everything..
In my own experience, most of the people I know participate in alot of clubs around campus, or are in fraternities. I'm sure there are a few who don't, I guess I just don't tend to meet them if that's the case

I went, it was cool. Hey, it's late. Yah, anyway. Yah. The teachers seemed cool and stuff. I got a neat pen and the food was pretty good.

Dado2grls - Has your daughter decided what college she will attend next year?

I went. For me, it sucked. I was sick, it was cold, I got sicker. It was my birthday. I decided RPI wasn't right for me..

Me too, it's not the right place for a pre-med student, I gathered. Where are you going, throwmeabone?

I'm going to University of Rochester

Well, I went to ECSE, so the demonstrations were cool. I dunno about pre-meds. ECSE gave me the pen. It lights up. I like it.

Deciding where to go over a pen? If you like pens you should go to the career fairs when u get into college, so many awesome giveaways
Also, yeah I agree, the demos were pretty cool. I was showing off the robot my IED class made, and finally got to see the undergrad wind tunnel (i'm a soph aero/meche and that was the first time I got to see it haha)
