My niece was just accepted and plans to go to one of the local meetings of accepted students. My D and I never attended one. Can anyone let me know what the attire generally is for these? I suggested a business casual dress but I don't want to steer them wrong. Anyone who has gone and can let me know I'd appreciate it! :)

Congrats to your niece. Was it a regular acceptance or was she accepted off the wait list (just wondering if they have started this yet). When our D went to the local reception most of the people there were dressed business casual. A few were very well dressed and a few were in jeans. I would suggest business casual. Hope your niece enjoys it.

thanks! yes she was accepted regular decision with a 9K scholarship, we are in NJ. Of course for selfish reasons we want her to pick UDel but most important we want her to be happy! fingers crossed, it’s in her top 2 right now! :)

We went to the Accepted Students reception in NY a few weeks ago. My S wore “business casual”. Many students did the same. However, some were in jeans, etc. There were many families there that evening so I don’t think that anyone stood out because of their dress, but it was refreshing to see some make an effort!

Thanks Tigerm! My niece goes tonight to a NJ reception, I appreciate the feedback. They are going with the business casual approach. My niece is adorable and always looks fashion forward but was a bit nervous and wanted to blend in a bit! lol… I hope they have a great experience! :)
