Accepted Student Phone Calls

Just thought some people might want to know, if you get accepted EA, you get a phone call of congratulations from a current Georgetown student. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions of current students, especially if you can't make it out to campus. Also, the person who calls you is often (but not always) from your state or nearby, so if you're especially curious about the cultural transition from the midwest to the East Coast, or the climate difference between California and DC, this also might be a unique opportunity. If you're not home, we'll leave a message, and at least last year we called back the people we missed on the 17th. So if it's especially important to you to talk to these types of students, you might make an effort to be home around the following times. Conversely, if you really want to find out via print form, you might check your caller ID before picking up if for some reason you haven't received your letter:

[ul][]Tuesday, December 15, 6-9pm EST[]Wednesday, December 16 6-9pm EST[li]Thursday, December 17, 7-10pm EST[/ul]
[/li]

Note that the person calling you will just be a regular student. No one will be able to tell you anything about when you'll get financial aid info (think April), telling us you need financial aid will not work its way around to the FA office, etc.

They attempt to stagger the calls geographically, with the Eastern timezone the first night, Mountain and Central on Wednesday, and the West coast on Thursday. At least last year, we were able to pretty much finish in two days, although that might not happen this year.

ahh thanks this is supersuper helpful!! i’m so nervous!!

Thanks! That’s good to know
Do you ever try calling cell phones, or is it always the house?

This is going to stress me out even more. ahh
