Accepted students' aid decisions

When will students who were accepted EA hear if they’ve received any financial aid? Any ideas?

This is exactly what we are waiting for as well…she was accepted EA…but no aid info yet. Fingers crossed. Bard is her first choice by a long shot.

I was also accepted EA and no financial aid letter yet…:/

I just looked all through the admissions and financial aid sections of Bard’s website and couldn’t find any info at all re: notification of financial aid awards. May call this week and ask–

I’m calling Monday as well.

[Financial Aid | Award Procedures for Financial Aid](http://www.bard.edu/financialaid/awards/)

It say’s here that financial aid awards are sent out from the last week of March until mid-April. Anybody know how good Bard aid in terms of financial aid??

God, I hope they’re good enough for me to attend.

College Board says:

87% of need met

91% of freshmen with financial aid

Average 1st year financial aid package: $39,206

I wonder if the $39,206 number was from last year when the tuition was lower, so this year it’ll be more?

Me too. Bard has a net price calculator in their financial aid website BUT according to that I’d have to pay around $25000 a year when my EFC was zero…hopefully there was a mistake or something. I do know Bard’s overall price is considered extremely pricey, it’s almost $60,000!

My EFC is ~7500, and I would have to pay around $18000 after the federal loans, so I would be a little surprised if you had to pay that much. Then again, I’ve been pretty much devastated by my fin aid packages this year so far, so who knows.

I hope not. That’d be the end of my Annandale-on-Hudson dream. Bard also has some decent scholarships which I"m hoping I got. This is only my second decision so far. The rest of my schools wont release decisions and financial aid decisions until next week :(

Yeah, this limbo of waiting is torture…good luck to you!

atidrep - did you end up calling? I know we just have to wait but it would be so nice to know when it might be coming…

I called today. Letters go out next week.

Turntabler: Thanks, you too! Hopefully we end up Bardians who are able to afford more than ramen noodles and cheerios.

Another week?! Well I guess this limbo DOES NOT end exactly on April 1st -____-

good luck to everyone waiting on aid…hard to breathe until the letters arrive…

Tell me about it! This is really getting difficult.

ughh yeah. It didn’t come today for me, hopefully it will tomorrow. In the meantime, I got a pretty decent (read: not utterly unfordable like every other school so far) aid package from Hampshire.

Yay! Bard gave me the best aid of any college yet! Better than Hampshire!

Total cost: $59000 for first year. Aid Awarded: $47000 including $6000 federal loans. It means some PLUS loans, and maybe some supplementary loans for myself, but it’s very doable! WOO

Turntabler - That is so great! They knew that Bard was where you belonged!

Thanks SpiritManager  I’m psyched!
