I just received my Acceptance Letter in the mail today and I'm sure a number of you have received your own big orange envelope, so congratulations Tigertown Bound class of 2018!

This seems like the perfect place to discuss attending Clemson next year.

if you have really really really good stats, you may hear back from Clemson earlier than February 15th. Otherwise, the large majority have to wait until February 15th.

Daughter received her acceptance letter today along with an out of state scholarship! She attended a summer camp at Clemson before her Junior year and loved it.

Stats:
GPA: 3.7 UW / 4.5 W
ACT: 34
SAT: 1420 (CR + M)
Applied to Engineering ~ Sept.
Out of State: NC

An ACT score of 28 is the minimum cut off score for these early acceptance scholarships. May be higher depending on the quality of applicants applying that year and how much money they have for scholarships.

And correction, 1250 is the SAT minimum cut off score, not 1350 like I said 2 posts above.

That seems a little odd, especially since that score range falls around their 50% accepted scores.

Also, I was offered a $1,000 Scholarship from the school, but will receive the Palmetto Fellows ($6,700 then $7,500), an additional $2,500 from Clemson because I am a Palmetto Fellow, and an additional $2,500 because my SAT score is 1400 (m+cr).

Clemson will be removing their additional $1,000/yr scholarship because of the others I’m getting.

Do you know if there is a way to speak with their Admissions or Financial Aid Office to keep that additional merit scholarship, or even attain more?

The SAT cut-off score is low but it’s usually the “Top 10%” rank that disqualifies people. My theory for the past few years is that these scholarship offers are to try and get students who would help improve their US News standings in admissions categories since average SAT/ACT score/% of students in the top 10% of their high school class are criteria in determining the US News college rankings.

Son received his acceptance letter this week for Engineering! $7,500/yr OOS merit scholorship. He retook the ACT in December and improved his score. Hoping it will bring more scholorship money!
