So excited for my daughter who got her big Tigertown Bound envelope today and was admitted to the Clemson school of nursing! She also received a $15,000/year merit-based scholarship!

when did she apply?

I think she applied in September. They must be doing rolling acceptances. Good luck!

My OOS daughter applied in September and her letter came today. She received $7500 merit scholarship - I was really hoping for more based on her numbers. Does anyone know what is needed to receive more than the minimum? My daughter has an ACT of 32 and a weighted GPA of 4.95. thanks!

It really depends on what are the stats of other students who applied - I suspect they probably look at that to make their decisions about who gets what.

@janey13, If you go to the net cost calculator on the Clemson website they ask if you want to calculate merit scholarships.

http://workgroups.clemson.edu/A_A_5690_OIR/cunpc/

With a 32 ACT she would need to be top 10% of her graduating class for the top amount.

You can recalculate the estimated scholarship with different scores and ranks to see where she falls.

If you fill out a FAFSA in January and so any need at all they bump the merit scholarship up $2500.

@pierre0913, we were told the scholarships are not competitive and are based only on the applicants stats (test scores and class rank).

@daveverdo - I wasn’t talking about who would get them but rather about what amount one would get. I’d imagine it would be sort of competitive in that case.

@pierre0913, It is spelled out in the net cost calculator. It calculates what merit scholarships are awarded based on class rank and test scores. top 10% 32 ACT or 1400SAT = $15000 OOS scholarship.

I’ve already been accepted to the college, so I wonder when I will hear back from Honors? I hope it’s soon because I want to know!!! That will make a big difference on whether or not I will go to Clemson!

Got in with 7500 a year, no class rank 3.6UW gpa 1380 SAT

@imagineer10 - you’ll probably hear back around February 15th for honors

thanks for info - our school does not rank so maybe that is why $7500.

if they don’t rank, they’ll estimate a class rank for her based on GPA and go from there.

When do we find out decisions for the Honors College?

around February 15th

Can those who didn’t get their “packages” that no others are being sent?

Congrats guys! I got $10,000 with 1360 SAT and 4.3 W GPA. Applied early September and found out early November.
