Accepted Students Financial Aid

Could any of the accepted people tell me if they’ve heard from the financial aid office? I haven’t heard anything about the aid yet…is the info gonna be with the post package which I have yet to receive…

somebody?

I haven't gotten my financial aid package yet either. Then again, I only got my acceptance letter yesterday, so I assume we'll get it sometime this week.

To international students who have already received their post packages, did it contain the fin aid offer? Or is that going to come separately (by email or post?)?

I got my financial aid package yesterday. It was pretty nice. :)

farya are you an international? and was ur finan aid package separate from the admission packet? like...did you receive it separately in the mail?

I'm not an international, and my FA package came separately in the mail.

I'm not international, and mine came the same day as the acceptance letter-although I think they were sent through different services (ups vs regular?) The package was much, much better than any of my other schools. You should probably get yours soon.

I'm an international and I got my acceptance through UPS. But I haven't received a financial aid package yet and I did apply. If they decided to do regular mail with me, it would take AGES for it to get here, but if they had decided to do UPS, I should have gotten an email from UPS for tracking a package like I did about the acceptance one. So far nothing...

I got mine yesterday, full ride pretty much.

Just so I can compare my package to other's, what is everyone's EFC from FAFSA and what is the actual amount of everyone's package from AC? Our family's EFC was around 16000, and we received 23,550 in grant money. I want to compare so I can decide if I should call Amherst and barter...

I got my acceptance letter Saturday and I'm still waiting for the FinAid...NERVOUS! ><

I got mine, with a financial aid of, wait for it, 0$. Wow.

I still don't see how on earth they think anyone can afford 50,000$ a year.

47000 :d

I haven't gotten my fin aid yet. My mom called because they said they never got our tax returns, so she faxed them and wanted to confirm they received them...they said letters haven't gone out yet, or at the very least, not all of them.

I got my fin-aid and I'm in TX.

I got my fin aid today, and it's worse than I expected. Is it possible to appeal the financial aid offer, or is the initial offer set in stone?

You can always appeal. It can't hurt. Perhapds there are special circumstances that need to know about.

Any idea what is the procedure for appealing? For example, what kind of "special circumstances" should I mention? Anything not mentioned in the financial aid application, or perhaps a better financial aid offer from another college? Anyone who has previously appealed a financial aid offer who can help?

I created a thread on the Williams board. You can go see if you want, NBZ.

so does that mean EVERYBODY has gotten their financial aid letters? in about a day or two, i guess i'll be then only one who hasnt heard....***
