I got in today! For all of our fellow applicants, it would be cool if we could all jump on board and provide stats for them to analyze, critique, and awe over. Just kidding, but I'm sure they would like it, to see where they stand. Soo, let's follow this format:

No, it doesn't say anything. They only notify you by mail, you get a package that says "Congratulations" on a sticker on the outside, with a viewbook/magazine inside. It is pretty thin, so don't freak out if it isn't fat lol. They probably update your page after they are sure you've received the letter by mail. good luck!

I was wondering... shouldn't the line with AP/honors be changed to include IB as well (also, with that line it should ask about the entire Diploma program or just the individual classes).

I think they started sending out acceptances like right on dec. 1 to strong candidates who sent in their apps like a month or so early. i think they are kinda going in order of when u sent in ur app because i sent mine in the 26th of novemeber and it went under full review on the 6th so im hoping for a decision sometime soon. hopefully :)

my brother applied two years ago and got a decision before christmas

Hmmm... now I'm all nervous. I think of myself as a very strong candidate for admission (admittedly not quite as stunning as vc08, but not shabby) and I applied on Nov. 26th. I'd just really like to get an acceptance letter soon. I want to know that I can go to college.

vc08--Congrats on UW! Good luck with Honors. If you get in, it's an awesome program. I'm in it right now. :) Hopefully you hear back soon.

Joli.Hauteur--While test scores are a small factor, they are not quite as much a determining factor for UW Honors. Really, your essay is the most important piece because they want to see if you have the passion for learning that fits with the Honors ethos. I know a student last year who had a 3.9 unweighted GPA and an ACT score of 36 who got rejected from Honors. The grades and test scores are more of a confirmation that yes, you have the potential to succeed academically, and the essay gauges your creative capacity to learn. All that aside, I hope you get in too 'cause it's a really neat experience.

whirlybird--don't be too nervous if you don't hear back so soon. When I applied, I submitted my app on Nov. 28th and didn't hear back until the end of January. It just depends on how many students apply at any given time. They pool a bunch of applications at a time based on when they were received, so yours might not have been pooled yet. No worries, you'll hear back soon enough. :)

Joli.Hauteur--No problem! I am actually a second-year Honors student at UW, but I do remember the dates from when I applied two years ago:

I applied to UW on Nov. 28, 2005, and my application went under full review at the end of December that year. I got my acceptance letter to UW on Feb. 3, but didn't get into Honors until April 19. (The only way I know the dates is 'cause I made copies of everything =P).

I know they've gotten over 1,000 letters of rec for Honors already. My friends who work in the Honors office have been filing all of them for the past few weeks. The Honors staff who review for admissions will be working over winter break on a lot of that stuff, so hopefully you'll hear back soon!

Okay, then ~February or so. I can deal with that. Haha, my letter of rec is somewhere in that monster pile! I don't know why, but that's such a funny feeling.

Actually, UW has rolling admissions so decisions and notifications have already started but will go through April. People who have heard back already probably applied really early.
