sugardonkey 88 - Did you receive any financial aid; i.e., scholarships/grants? You're stats are impressive. (Math's not bad!) Good luck to you! My d is interested in Bucknell, but it's very costly to attend. I'd hate to see any student graduate with a boatload of loans.

what should you shoot for? a 1350 (2000+) would make it a match assuming you have decent activities and are around the top tenth of your class. recruited athletes make up a good percentage of the bottom quarter of enrolled students based on sat scores, so its a bit more difficult to get in than admissions statistics suggest (same for other small d1 schools: lafayette, colgate, et cetera). dont take that to mean that our athletes are unintelligent; we have a national merit finalist on our basketball team. its just much easier to get in with a 1200 if a coach really wants you. but i digress.

anyway, just to give you an idea, the enrolled 25-75 range for the class of 2010 should be 1230-1410 (600-690 verbal, 630-720 math). for admitted students, the range is 1270-1460 (620-720 verbal, 650-740 math).

that said, i know two non-athletes who got in with sub 1200s (old version). both were in the top 10 of their classes, scored in the 1180 range and had amazing ecs. one was a legacy who got in ed. the other made it in off the waitlist.

Thank you for the information! I'm pretty close to that, but I'm retaking the SAT in June to bring my score up into the 1400's, hopefully. I really want to go to this school...

Does Bucknell take AP test scores into consideration when evaluating applications?

I have a 2350, but a B average. Do I have a good shot? ECs are pretty much in line with what most people seem to have.

knaufy-

i have NO idea how much ap scores are taken into consideration in the admissions process. it would be a good question to ask admissions, though! if you find anything out, let us know.

have you considered applying early decision? 58% of ed applicants were admitted for the class of 2009 compared with about 32% rd. the rd acceptance rate this year was around 28%.

id be very surprised if you didnt get in. my stats were somewhat similar to yours (gpa a bit better, but at a pretty bad public high school; sats slightly lower, but still well above the 75th percentile) and i got in everywhere i applied, including cornell.
