Anyone accepted to Tulane this year with any scholarship--partial or full--please post your stats!

24k/year

1450/2110
3.7uw
Top 10 of class (Top ~2%)

24k/year, EA. (I think it makes a difference since the RD round was so much tougher.)

1410/2110
3.7 UW
Top 10% of class

I was EA but I got the 24k/yr and then the full-tuition Dean's Honor Scholarship, which I think I would've gotten even if I was RD b/c it wouldn't really matter...

33 ACT, no SAT submitted
97.52 unweighted, valedictorian
Student Council President, NHS Secretary, Natural Helpers, Superintendent's Council Coordinator
Kodak Young Leaders Award, Coca Cola Scholars Semifinalist, Smith Book Award, Blue Devil (local) award
Varsity basketball & varsity track captain

Accepted early action. I got the 24k/yr presidential scholarship along with admission to the honors program.

I was dead set on going to Tulane for a few months and even sent in my deposit. On April 1,though, I unexpectedly got into Georgetown (like my dream school) after getting deffered early action so I'm going there. I loved Tulane, though, and loved every second of my honors weekend visit.

2000 SAT
3.88, top 10%, Cum Laude Society

770 US History, 600 Math IIC, 570 Spanish

Varsity Track and Cross Country, some political stuff, chaired my school's community service board, etc

The essay I submitted to Tulane was probably the best one I wrote through this whole process. I didn't see my recs but they were probably the most solid part of my app.

24k/yr EA
33 ACT
3.6 GPA

Going to nyu

My S got one of the Deans Honors scholarships (had originally gotten the 24K scholarship, but the DHS replaces that one). However, he would prefer I not post his stats. Sorry. He is a NMF and graduated Summa Cum Laude from HS this past weekend. Hope this helps.

My D got Distinguished Scholar ($20K/yr) as Priority Applicant last fall in response to email solicitation.

SAT:780V/570M/670W
GPA:3.86
Rank: top 10%
5 AP's
Lots of EC's, especially Theater

Visited Tulane and loved it.
Going to Bryn Mawr because of better financial aid package.

DS just got the notification of the National Merit scholarship as well. So, with the full tuition DHS scholarship and the $2K/yr NMS, Tulane will be remarkably inexpensive!

My s doesn't want me to put his specific scores, but I will share that his full SAT was 2290/2400. SAT IIs were also comparable (high 700s to 800)

Good luck everyone!

Congrats jym626!

Just back from Tulane Graduation 2008. Only Tulane offers fireworks, jazz, confetti and umbrellas -- at an INDOOR graduation!!!!

My son was a former Dean's Honor recipient, now going on to a top medical school on an equally lucrative scholarship. Don't let anyone, or anything, scare you away from Tulane.

Thanks, concernneddad!
I do want to hear all about his experiences. I do recall all the Katrina/EMS stories. My s is also premed so I do want the full scoop! I am glad to hear that graduation is fun. Older s's was, from what I hear (had double graduation conflict so couldn't go) boring, so hope Tulane's will be fun, and that I get to go! I don't want to rush though-- these past 4 yrs sure flew by too fast! Congrats on the scholarships!! All great news!! I am definitely looking forward to writing small college payment checks for a change!! Awaiting the revised FA package with the NMS along with the DHS on it. Love those big numbers!!!

Once waitlisted, now accepted with DHS ($20k/yr)

Exciting!

Redribbon-
You probably have the distinguished scholars. The DHS is the Deans Honors Scholarship. Its full tuition. Congrats on yours!

3.5GPA
12 APs (i'm lazy...)
33 ACT

24k Presidential Scholarship
accepted off waitlist with the scholarship

*** happened there
