Accepted Students

Congrats to all of you! I applied to NEU regular dec. Hopefully I will be an intl business major, considering a double major intl business + journalism. I'm a foreign student (Dominican Republic) and here are my stats:
3.8 UW
1150 M+V but taking the SAT again this month aiming for a 1300
IB Candidate (hopefully will help me get in big time)
Great recs
ECs: Model UN, Journalism Club, Graphic Design, Community Service, studied French for 5 years
Languages: Spanish, English, French
Visited campus and met with an admissions officer there. She said that I can get into the Honors Program.
To those who got in: I love NEU's location and campus. The best dorms of the schools I visited in Boston. The Honors Program dorms are currently in construction...and they told me that they are gonna be AWESOME..with private bathrooms and that they'll look like hotels. PM/IM me for campus pics if interested.
I also applied to BU, BC and Suffolk but I don't really like BC as much as BU and NEU.

i wanna go into the pharm D program, i applied like the 15th of december or so...is it gonna be long till i find out

who thinks ill get in
3.7W - top 10% -75/860
650 M 600 V
good recs

i was wondering if they would gimme some $$

aj - my friend also applied to the pharmacy program during late nov/early dec and still hasn't heard back yet. I see you're from Queens, I am too! What part?

I have a question for those who have been accepted. My friend got accepted EA and upon receiving her envelope, the outside already said "Congratulations!" and that she had been accepted. Has this happened to anyone? Does this mean if there is no acceptance message on the outside, you're deferred/rejected?

If they do this with everyone, I don't like the idea. Waiting to open that envelope is something you might anticipate for months, and having a decision thrusted at you that you may not be prepared for is a scary notion to me...

The envelope my daughter received last year also had CONGRATULATIONS on the outside and a bumper sticker included in the letter.

Yeah, mine also had the big congratulations on it. my friend got deferred and got a smaller envelope without anything on it.

I haven't physically gotten the letter yet (I'm overseas), but I got the "What to expect next" email, so I know I'm in. It's kind of a bummer finding out over the internet, but whatever.

I was wondering, regarding those decisions sent via email, does the title of it also indicate whether you've been accepted or not?

The subject says "what to expect next"
good luck!

to the OP,

sorry but i think your chances of the honors program are slim. its based purely on GPA and test scores and the admissions person was probably comparing them to last years whereas the application pool seems to be getting more and more competative each year.
i have an 1190 SAT and 3.9 GPA and i hope i can get in too but i dont think one pulls more than the other.

hmm...weird today I got an e-mail telling me my confirmation # to check the status of my applications and materials...yet I was deferred. Did I get deferred because all my materials didn't reach there by the deadline? I remember checking online application status around EA time and my transcript was missing according to them... hmm
