My son applied 11/7 and got the acceptance in the mail 12/10. Like hockeymom said, the portal said he was accepted 12/4. We never got an e-mail either and hadn’t been checking online. It isn’t his top school but he got a very nice business scholarship (13k) which was a pleasant surprise so it might move up his list.

I thought EA decisions were mailed in Feb. so everyone who has an acceptance letter applied EA? That is weird. My son got a mailer reminding him to apply for scholarships. No decision so far.

Just a friendly reminder that IC works differently than most colleges. We have rolling admissions, meaning that after a certain date (usually early december), they start to send out decisions. You could find out now, or you could find out February 1st. It has nothing to do with your qualifications, rather just how the system sends things out. my.ithaca.edu will have an accurate update on your acceptance the day that you’re expected to receive your mailing. That’s how it worked for me as well. They do it that way so that you don’t see your accepted and then have someone call the school 10 times asking if it’s accurate haha

Early action acceptance into the physical therapy program, found out on IC peers. Guess with Christmas coming, everything sent out by mail is later.

I got in for legal studies with a 15,000 merit scholarship and 3,000 dollars for being a minority I’m pretty happy :)

Congrats! I’m a LS minor and I LOVED it

So if all our paper work is in , we should find out sooner than Feb 1st? My son is waiting too.
I see some have acceptance. Is it from early decision? We applied for early action.

Accepted to Ithaca. My son got his letter in the mail dated December 17th. He applied EA with a 3.4 unweighted GPA and 29 ACT. He got a scholarship notification too. He is very happy. Now comes the hard part of deciding where to go.

anghad

When did your son have his application in to Ithaca? Congrats on the acceptance. Deciding where to go is a great problem to have!

Hi - I am applying Theater Studies, so I was not able to apply EA due to interview requirements. Will this hurt my chances at a merit/leadership scholarship, or for receiving potential financial aid?

Acceptance came today! Received the Flora Brown award which was a nice surprise. I applied to the MLK Scholars program after getting a letter from the school nominating me.

Quick stats:
27 ACT
87 GPA
Docent at NY Aquarium
Applied undecided

My son received his acceptance in the mail today. His application has completed 11/30. There was no mention of a merit award though. He had a 3.3 gpa and 1860 SAT

MCald - We applied on Oct. 31st for EA and found out in Dec. Good luck.

My Son was accepted on 1/5/13 into the School of Humanities and Sciences as an Emerging Media major. He applied Early Action in the middle of November. He received the President’s Scholarship for $18K. His average is a little over 94 and SATs were (660 CR, 770 Math, 650 Writing). Ithaca is his first choice. Looking forward to see what the rest of the aid package looks like. He was also accepted into SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Oswego and Canisius College.

My son just got his acceptance by snail-mail for the Physical Therapy program w/ the the President’s Scholarship for $18K. He also applied Early Action right before the deadline. He has a 32 ACT/2010 SAT, and a 3.9/4.5 weighted GPA. It is definitely one of his top choices and he could finish the PT program in 6 years instead of the 7 at most schools.

He just checked myIthaca yesterday and there was nothing there, so this was a pleasant surprise. Now he just needs to narrow down his choices…

accepted into Roy H. communication school!!!

@GotCurls, My daughter is applying Music Ed/Performance and because of scheduling conflicts can’t do her audition until the February 9th date. According to people she knows there (her private teacher is a prof there) the Music Department doesn’t give out talent money until all the auditions are complete, with the exception of Binding Early Decision kids (and they have to go on the first audition date). To the best of our knowledge, same holds true for Theater and MT, so you should be fine. Her application has been in since October, but until the audition, testing and interview she can’t get accepted either.

Thanks alexmariejp! Best of luck to your daughter!

I was accepted for Writing. Haven’t gotten the letter yet but I checked on IC Peers. I already know I’m not attending though because it’s too far away from home.

lilkickster9, did you apply ED or EA, or was it regular decision? My daughter applied regular decision at the end of October, as a Writing major.
