Now all I am waiting for is my decision from Penn state, cant wait to visit Ithaca though

Emrose - have you already auditioned for music. My son applied Regular Decision to double major in music composition and computer science. He hasn’t heard a peep from Ithaca, but he still has to audition on 2/23.

Emrose probably auditioned at the earlier audition dates. I think Ithaca had one in early December.

D has many friends at and applying to Ithaca. You can’t get accepted into the music school until after you complete an audition. They do not do provisional acceptances for academics. You usually have your result within around two weeks of your audition. Last year though, some friends of D’s who did the last audition date did hear later. Also, right after your audition ( a few days after) check to make sure all items are marked complete. Last year D’s boyfriend auditioned the last day and their interview never got marked complete (it was). By the time they got it straightened out the class was already built and he ended up on the wait list. He ended up at another school ( though Ithaca had Kong been his first choice) and it has worked out well, but it was stressful for everyone.

FWIW, D’s audition is this Saturday and she just got the email reminder last night from Thomas Kline.

Your son also should be logging into his Ithaca page. Other prospective students and professors can and will contact him there through ICPeers.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using CC

thelanceboy, did you have good EC’s that helped with your application? appling in the fall, and I have what you have. Ithaca is my #1 choice!

I got in-physics major (BS)

2.7 GPA
2110 SAT
decent extracurriculars-4 years varsity track and 3 cross country, work at my church’s food pantry, student gov’t, chess club
pretty solid essay
13,000 a year

I saw my acceptance on IC Peers on Feb. 4th and received my letter in mail a few days later. Applied in late December I think. Got the President’s Scholarship and I couldn’t be more happy! Ithaca is my 1st choice so I pray that I get enough money in aid to attend. Also applied for leadership and park scholarship.

Congratulations to all. Does anyone know when Ithaca will be notify applicants about the Leadership Scholarship? I thought I read that it was March 31, but then someone else told me, March 15th.

@ MCwald, I read on IC peers that we will be notified about the leadership scholarship with our financial aid package. Some people may receive their packages in late February but for most it will be early March.

Thank you, Jennee98. Good luck to you for Leadership and Park.

Any idea when I might get my decision? I applied RD right before Christmas (the 22nd or 23rd). Will I get an email or do I have to obsessively refresh ICPeers?

@ MCwald, I wanted to correct my earlier reply to you regarding the Leadership scholarship notification. While it is true that it will be included in your FA package, the notification will also come under separate cover. I can only assume that the Leadership letter will come first. As for the FA package, I am really confused now as to when they will be sent. I have read two different things on IC Peers: (1) that some will be released in late February, but most will be early March, and (2) will be released in mid to late March.

@ loomer9, You will not get an email (at least I didn’t). If you are accepted, it will show up on your myithaca, and you will also receive your acceptance letter in the mail which will also contain any merit scholarships. If you are not accepted, I’m not sure if that will show up on myithaca or not, but of course, you will receive the letter in the mail. Decisions are already being released. Everyone will be notified by April 15th, but you’re likely to get your answer before then. Hope this helps.

What a coincidence! I got accepted today by mail. It still hasn’t shown up on myIthaca.

For anyone wondering, I got the President’s Scholarship (18k/year) with these stats. I can’t remember whether I sent just SAT + Subject tests or ACT or both:

3.69 GPA (unweighted, hardest schedule possible except for history classes)
2220 SAT (700 M, 720 CR, 800 W/10 E)
780 Math II, 780 Chem
33 ACT (35 E, 32 S, 32 R, 33 M), 8 essay
Unspectacular extracurriculars (JV cross country/track, class vice president, very few community service hours)

Good luck to you all still awaiting your decision!

Jennee98, I called IC and they said that the FA packages will most likely be out in early to mid March. (“A few will be out in February, but not most”). As for the leadership scholarship, I think that this will be in mid March too for most recipients.

loomer9,

Impressive stats! Are you going to Ithaca or are you waiting for other offers? And, do you have any sense of major at this point?

@loomer9, Congratulations on your acceptance and the President’s Scholarship! I also received the President’s. Very impressive test scores - mine are much lower than that. Here’s my stats just for fun:

Where else have you applied?

Mine are:

UGA - Accepted
American University - Pending
NYU - Pending
University of Notre Dame - Pending
Winthrop University - Pending

MCwald: Thanks! Ithaca is fairly low on my list, although the scholarship will definitely make me consider Ithaca heavily if I don’t get into any of my reaches. I haven’t gotten any decisions back except for this one.

jennee98: Thanks, and congratulations on the scholarship! Here’s where I applied:

Amherst College
Brown
Colby
Ithaca
UMass Amherst
Skidmore
Tufts
Vassar
Wesleyan University

All are pending except for Ithaca. I know Amherst and Brown aren’t going to happen, and I’m definitely not going to UMass now that I got into Ithaca.
