Yes, my son got a letter on Tuesday…didn’t get it but he’s just as happy with the Honors program. good luck to others!
p.s. we’re in MA

Oh Wow! I’m surprised that any decisions have gone out yet - I don’t know Why cause they did say it would be mid to late March; I guess I just thought it would be later than sooner.
@hopmom74 - I’m sorry your son didn’t get it, but you’re right, the honors program really seems to be great.
This wait is killing me! I just wanna know already! I have a gut feeling that I won’t get it - I just want to know so I can move on…

BTW, I’m in SC, so who knows how long it will take to get my letter. When they sent out my honors acceptance, I didn’t even get it the first time - they had to email it and then mail it again.
Where are you from MCwald?

Yes, I know the wait is the worst…I’m feeling that way waiting for my son’s last three decisions! I’m sure you’ll hear soon, good luck…hope it’ll be a yes!

I was accepted after 12 days since my application was submitted. Does anyone know about what time will accepted students receive need-based aid?

@jennee98 - I know you were really wanting to go to Ithaca. Have you received your Financial Aid Package yet? I hope they are giving you enough so you can go. Let us know. One of my sons will be accepting their offer for this fall as an Emerging Media major. He’s very excited about it.

Jennee98 - we are from New Jersey. Have a great weekend everyone!

I and my friend received the aid package yesterday with both 15k merit and 10k grant. the remaining cost is still a stretch for us as we’re international

@JEDad2013 - I haven’t received my FA package yet :(. Because I applied for the Leadership scholarship, I have to wait for those decisions to come out before they will release my FA package. I’ve heard of one person on here who’s already received their Leadership decision, so I don’t know if they’ve released everybody’s or if decisions are released on a rolling basis. I’m so glad that your son is going to be able to attend. I want to go to Ithaca so bad. The thing is, if I don’t get what I’m hoping between FA and outside scholarships, well I just don’t know what I’m gonna do. Alot of people in my family think I’m crazy for wanting to go to college 900 miles away from my home. They seem to think that I’ll be making a mistake, especially since I have a full ride at an in-state university. However, the in-state university does not offer the major that I want. I only applied there on my mom’s advice to have a back-up plan. It’s a great school - I just wouldn’t be doing my major choice (although they do have a good writing program and I love doing that as well). My heart is in film, and Ithaca has a good film program. I fell in love with Ithaca the moment I set foot on campus when I visited this past summer. Anyway, I’m sorry for rambling on…I guess I’m just starting to freak out a little, and my nerves are getting the best of me. In my heart I know that getting the Leadership scholarship is a long shot, but I’m just hoping and praying that a miracle happens…

The mail came today. My son did not receive the Leadership Scholarship. Good luck to the rest of you! Not sure what this means for Ithaca – likely it is out as the $7,000 was really needed. (Also sorry about the missed opportunity as I think he would have been a great leader on campus).

Good luck guys.

Oh gosh! I’m so sorry MCwald. I feel your disappointment, I really do. I’m pretty sure that I have the same disappointment coming my way - I’m just further away and it takes an extra day or two for me to get it. I’m sure your son would have been a wonderful leader - it’s just so competitive, and with them only choosing 60 people…well it’s a long shot for most of us. If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of extracurriculars and leadership roles has he had? Has he had alot of volunteer work? I haven’t had much volunteer work at all, just a few small things. I’m pretty sure that that’s gonna be my downfall - and I’m pretty sure that’s what killed me with the Parks Scholarship as well. There’s so many kids out there that have everything in their favor - the grades, EC’s, leadership roles, and tons of community service on top of that.
I hope that y’all are able to find a way for him to attend Ithaca, if that’s really where he wants to go. If not, I hope he’ll be happy with wherever he ends up. Keep us posted.

I am really hoping for you guys that really want to go to Ithaca, that you will find a way. I think it’s a great school and a great all around environment.

Well folks, I received the dreaded rejection from the Leadership Scholarship Committee today However, I was selected to receive a Leadership Recognition Award in the amount of $1,000.

My letter states:

“While we were unable to offer you a Leadership Scholarship, the Committee was very impressed with your demonstrated leadership background and your record of accomplishment. This special recognition award is offered to only a select few candidates, and represents our confidence in your ability to make a difference on our campus.”

Well, although I’m very disappointed about not receiving the scholarship, I’m very grateful that I received something. Every little bit helps. I’ve just got to hope that I get some more from the other scholarships I applied for, and also that I get a decent FA package.
Good luck to everyone.

@jennee98 - Sorry to hear you didn’t get the whole Leadership Scholarship, but now hopefully you will get your Financial Aid package soon and it will give you enough help to attend. Our package was very good, so I hope they are generous with you as well.

Hey guys, I just found this thread. I got accepted back in December through early action. Ithaca is one of my top choices, if I receive more aid I will probably be attending. Just wanted to say hello!
