yay for conservatives at Bates!

www.mainecr.org
love them

haha yeah that's right; I'm probably the only conservative who plans on attending Bates...or at least that's the impression that this forum gives me.

watch out! Different states have different parties. Each party may be on a totally different side of the spectrum....

Jon Stuwart put it best
"...being that a new york conservative is closer to being a communist than anything else...(talking about mayor Bloomberg)"

obviously its exagerated, but the general consensus is still there.
Example: a Kansas conservative would have a tough time fitting in at a new york conservative party (I would imagine that this would apply to Maine as well)

Disclaimor: I could be wroung :-) , I am just a high school senior.

I think that conservatives can best be characterized as Barry Goldwater conservatives (the closest description of a neocon really) and old-age conservatives.

Obviously, some people claim to be conservatives - when they really aren't - just because they are surrounded by radical left wingers. (I'm a true neocon btw)

I'm the VP of the Bates College Republicans, contact me when you hit campus in the fall if you go. We have the flagship CR chapter in the flagship state chapter in the country, Maine. Next year is going to be epic. Come to Bates and you'll have an amazing network of powerful conservatives.

PS if anyone gets put in Page for housing, I'm going to be 21 with a single on the 3rd floor, so expect keg parties.

And Chuck Norris might visit campus. How could anyone turn down Bates knowing that?

Anyone have any input into which one offers a better education?
