That's my guess on the matter. Maybe they are gonna send us more information about this when they send us all the info later on... Who knows?

Guys, I have one question for you. It is addressed to American students. I am trying to create a picture of how my life is going to be like when I get there.
I would like to know, if you want to share, how would you feel about being paired with an international student for a roommate. I don't know, it's curiosity or maybe fear that my roommate might not enjoy the fact that I am a foreigner.
So, what do you say???

I would love to room with an international student. It would be such an amazing opportunity to learn about another culture and could only add to my college experience!

dont worry, if anything you would the more favorite students on campus :-)
I have room'd with many internation students, whether it was during my sailing program in the bvi's or in my college program in new england. I have infact met one or two Romanians :-) I have made some friends from europe that I still keep in touch with. You will be just fine especially at a school such as Bates :-)

Even if said international student was a tad messy and procrastinates a lot? looks away shiftily

anyone can be like that. let us just hope that the admission office will work on some good matches for each of us and maybe you will end up with an american unlikely to be bothered by your habits. Hopefully

seconds the shifty eye-shifting
Yeah, I worry about this too (to some extent, because I'm half-American and people likely wouldn't know that I was an intel unless I told them), especially with the recent racial problems that Bates seems to be having. If any current students (especially intels) follow this thread, how much effect has the controversy had on your life, if any?
