I was accepted, invited to the Honors College, and received a $24,000/yr scholarship.

I believe that the new $24,000 Presidential Scholarships are just the old $22,000 Distinguished Scholarships with a new name and a slightly higher dollar ammount. I can't find any info about Tulane's National Merit program on their admissions site, but the NMSC says that Tulane gives out college scholarships. So how does that work? Does anyone know the dollar ammount?

Tulane is one of 3 schools I've applied to right now. It's ahead of Notre Dame and behind Texas. If I get in to Plan II at UT then I most likely will go there, otherwise it's a pretty even shot between UT and Tulane. I'm also looking into applying to Penn, MIT, Stanford, and Rice but at this point don't really think I'd have a chance of getting in unless it's because I'm Hispanic.

to theloneranger:

you have a shot anywhere lol. Being Hispanic certainly does not hurt either. You really should apply to some higher tier schools if you want to go to them. Don't not apply because you think you don't have a shot. Those are some pretty impressive stats.

I have a question I was able to sumbit my application to Tulane on Novermber 12th for EA thought the Common App maybe they extended it. Also when is the CSS profile due for this college. WHen did u guys sumbit ur app. that you guys have heard so soon??

My transcript was postmarked October 24th and I found out about my acceptance online today, now just waiting for my package in the mail. I'd give it 3-4 weeks from sending your transcripts to find out about an admissions decision.

i'm a little nervous...but chance me:

Do you think I should email them? I sent my app in october 21 and was emailed on november 7 and told that it was not complete (my transcript and recs are missing) even though everything has been sent in. I just went on the website again and it said they were still missing. My counselor/naviance confirm that everything has been sent. Should I give it a couple of days? I'm getting antsy...

Just found out I got accepted today. Really excited to know I at least won't end up on the street next August!!

Now I'm just waiting for my letter to come that HOPEFULLY has scholarship info in it. Don't want to get too set on that, though.

McBear90- Your timeline is about the same as my sons (application/email from Tulane etc., confirming things with GC) Yesterday his application status finally reflected that they had received his transcripts and recs. He was sweating it too, but the email from Tulan did say that that the processing time from receipt of the application could take as long as 4 weeks because of the influx of applications at this time. You'll probably see your application status changing soon too.

Hey guys, I recently found out about my ACT retake score and I got a 32. Originally it was a 28. I'm already accepted at Tulane and I'm wondering if I'll get a better scholarship with my new ACT...

not unless you apply for the dean's scholarship or community service scholarship

they make the scholarship decisions with the application materials so they don't have as giant a workload in March and April.

Well, as I posted earlier, my son got accepted. Now we have to decide if he is going there or not. A lot of other acceptances have been received. Including some full rides. Looks like Tulane is slipping towards the bottom of the list now as a backup school. Nice to be accepted however. But when you have 3 schools offering full rides and one of them includes playing football, it's difficult to choose.
