Yeah kevinma, what does the acceptance letter/envelope look like? I've been checking my mailbox frequently, but no sign of a decision yet :(

Daughter checked the mail and she is in to LMU. She is very happy. Likes the campus and we know a student there now who loves it, so it is a definite possibility! Big envelope, for those who want to know.

Oh how exciting! :) Congratulations to your daughter.

Congrats, everyone! My school finally mailed out my transcript today ...so I guess I've got a month's wait for a decision now. Gah!

hello, i am a freshman at LMU and i was just browsing and noticed that many of you are worried about admissions when you have the necessary stats to be accepted, so dont stress. usually if you have 3.5 uw, or euivalent in weighted, and scored at least a 1700 on your SATs you are pretty much a guaruntee. Just make sure you write a decent admissions paper, and you dont screw up first semester of your senior year. Also, for those who havent applied yet, declaring a major in the Liberal Arts college will give you better chance, and dont worry if thats not what you want cause you can always change it during summer orientation. The film school is tough to get into, so even if your intersted in a major from there, just declare somewhere and change, you will have a better chance. good luck, hope to see some of you next year.

My GPA is a bit on the lower side--around a 3.3 weighted. But my SAT score went from an 1880 to a 2000, so I hope that helps.

My essays were decent and my recs will be decent.
Do I stand a chance?

quick question, can anyone answer.

so i posted my stats a couple pages back in this thread (3.5uw/25act) and all the responses said i have a very good chance at getting in. I applied RD, but rather early (Nov 25th was when all my materials were received). Since it is rolling could anyone tell me when i can assume i will hear back. Also does LMU want a mid-year school report and if so does that automatically mean that i cannot hear back until that is in? (aka not till semester is over :()

thanks a lot!

I don't think LMU requires a mid-year report.

And rolling depends. Their website says 4-5 weeks after admissions, but it also says that it will come by Dec 20 at least. Many So Cal people on this thread have gotten theirs already, but I (Nor Cal) and other Nor Cal people haven't gotten decisions. I'm guessing Non Californians wouldn't be able to get it soon either.

I have a 3.4uw and a 3.6w but a 1710 on the SATs (ouch).. 1110 M/CR and a 24 ACT (again, ouch) but I applied for Entrepreneurship so I don't know if that will help me or hurt me since it is the business school. I'm an east coaster so I assume I won't be hearing abck for another week or so even though my file has been reviewed. My GC did send 1st term grades though which were all As and 1 B.

anisha, does their website say 4-5 weeks after admissions even for Regular Decision applicants and btw i am from Washington State.

and so no mid year report necessary for RD applicants?

thanks, bump

bump 10 char

Hmm. I don't know if the rolling admissions goes for RD, although I have a feeling that it might. You should call their office and ask these questions, because I don't know for sure. Sorry :(

Huskies, why didn't you apply via early notification?

just recs and stuff, would not have had them in on time (i submitted my app on like Nov 10th) but all my stuff was not in till about Nov 25th...

Received my acceptance letter yesterday for Film Production.

I live in New Jersey. It's an amazing feeling to be able to follow your dreams.

Good luck everyone.

Chin, Congratulations! Did you apply to any other schools?

Congratulations! What were your stats, if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks everyone.

600 M, 620 CR, 650 Writing, 3.7 unweighted with a ton of honors classes and a few AP's. Some solid EC's and community service.

Film is really my dream and California may be far from home, but its calling me.

I hope everyone gets in to their dream schools. Good luck!

Congrats, Chinaski! :) That is so exciting! Yay for you.

Hopefully I will get some sort of notification this week. GAH. I am really nervous. MyChances.net predicted that I wouldn't get in. gaaaaaaaah.

Self-assurance: Anisha, if you don't get in, it's totally fine. It is totally okay. Life goes on.

....not working.

If it makes you feel any better anisha, that website told me I would be rejected from LMU.

Chance threads and predictors don't help you. In the end only the school can let you know if you're in or not. Schools claim they look at the whole application so don't think of yourself as your numbers.

Even if you didn't get in, it isn't the end of the world. My grandpa used to say "Never worry twice." When you get the letter, that's when to worry. In the meantime, just live your life.

Aw, thanks Chinaski! :) That's really nice of you.

Out of curiosity, what did you put down as your religion on the application? My parents are concerned that religion might be a factor even though LMU says it isn't.
