In the last 4 years I have not found any negatives with this school, which is why I have sent 2 kids there. I feel the kids are very protected and nurtured there. You can always talk to a live person, and your child will most definitely graduate in 4 years as opposed to 6 with some colleges! They have built more dorms, so they can house 95% of the students for their 4 years. This is just recent, actually. The housing area close to the campus are cute little Westchester houses, which my D chose to live in her Jr and Sr years. My S will live with his fraternity brothers off campus Jr year, too depending when he goes to Asia for the Business study abroad.

Chances are, your child will find some friends and desire to live off campus, but can live on campus if he/she files housing apps in a timely manner.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you ave any more questions. Glad to help.
This school is worth every cent!!!!

I just got the acceptance to LMU engineering. male from CA

Very good essay.

Hope2bELONmom, thanks for the info about LMU. It is always nice to hear how great a school is. We have a long wait ahead for the other notifications, but it is comforting to be in early at a top choice school. My daughter only applied to the schools that she would definitely attend. We visited LMU and she liked it very much. Your personal experiences with two children attending LMU is invaluable. No negatives about LMU is pretty impressive.

my letter is in the mail! it was sent yesterday so i'm expecting it tomorrow or thursday. i'm not even going to look at at the mail unless i see a big envelope.

Okay I called them and the lady said that they mailed me a letter saying that they want to see my first semester senior year transcript before they make a decision....

anisha08, you were not rejected and they want to see your grades. That is good news, not bad news. Keep the grades up and continue to show them your interest. It is not fun to have to wait a little longer for your decision, but you will hear before some regular decision applicants. An additional letter from counselor, LMU connected person, or a teacher who thinks highly of you, may give you an added push. (I would only ask these people if LMU really is your first choice and you would definitely go there if accepted. Otherwise, hang in there and wait for the good news!)

I just called Admissions asking if my application was complete because there was this mix-up at my school where they were supposed to send several things together and they didn't, one of the things I gave them to mail with my counselor rec when she finished was the application agreement and $50 check and when I asked the lady if she sent that too, her answer was "Eek, I don't remember!" Plus holiday mail is just crazy and slow, so I figured I'd check.

Perky Lady transferred me to Friendly Man (props to their admission office staff). He said my app was complete and being reviewed right now. GAH! It kind of makes you wish you hadn't called! :P

Thanks Adultparentmom. I guess I'm slightly disappointed because now I have to work my butt off for my final exams (Especially APGov and APStats). Hmm. Is this a deferral?

The letter should explain what category you are in. It seems that if they are happy with your grades, then you are in. Not deferred, and not rejected.
You just have to keep up the hard work a little longer!

I applied in October to LMU and was accepted two weeks later. I plan on attending, I visited the college twice last year while vacationing in Huntington. Still, I'm not sure how a Northeasterner will fit in living in LA. Has anyone else from New England gotten accepted?

I finally received the letter and I'm deferred.

Hmm. My GPA for first semester may be a bit of a downer, but my SAT score went up, so hopefully that may weigh positively against me. I'm going to call the Admissions Office and ask to send a DVD of my debate rounds.

so i applied RD and i just got a letter saying they want me to send my 7th semster grades. I am guessing this is bc i had to list my sr year classes on the app (5 APs, 1 honors) and they want to make sure i am maintaining a solid GPA... right? this is not a bad thing correct, it will just for sure prolong my letter or whatever. And must i wait until the grades are completely out at my school like mailed home bc that takes forever or just right after 7th semster...? thanks.
