So those of you who were deferred, what are your first semester grades?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get rejected from LMU after my first semester.

AP Stats - C
AP Gov - C
AP English - C
Physics - A
Journalism - A
T.A. - A

So I have a 3.5 (W), and a 3.0 (UW)

But anyways, is LMU your number 1 choice?

For me here is how my list goes...

(1-Tie). University of Miami (Will find out in Jan.)
(1-Tie). Indiana University (Accepted)
3. Florida State University (Accepted)
4. Pepperdine University (Will find out in March)
(5-Tie). Loyola Marymount University (Deferred)
(5-Tie). San Diego State University (Will find out by March)
7. University of Portland (Accepted with $40k scholarship)

How about you guys?

i am in a better position than the EA deferred people or no? I feel like they just want to see that i am maintaining a solid GPA senior year (i have a 3.48) with my difficult schedule.. or am i totally wrong?

thanks to anyone who can help settle me.

I think I'm screwed as well.
I don't know my senior year grades for sure but I'm assuming the worst...

AP Gov: C
AP English: B
AVID: A
AP Stats: C
Physio: B
Journalism: A

3.0 UW/ 3.5 W
Same as you, SoCal18.

I retook my SAT in November, so I should probably send them that score report.

And I might send them a debate video.

I'm in OK Shape..
AP Euro: B
Honors FST: A or B
Honors English: A
Phsycology: A
Women in history: A
Economics: A

I retook the ACT and scored a 25 but that won't really help I assume.
I might send them another essay if they allow it.

My list:
1. USC (March)
2. Colby (March
3. LMU (1st realistic choice and I would LOVE to go)
4. Umass Amherst (Accepted)

UC Davis (although its probably a reach) or UC Irvine

LMU or Chapman

UCSB

Scripps or Pitzer

I got into CSUF, which is like my super duper safety. At least one college wants me. lol.

could anyone answer post #102?

If you were accepted, you should be fine.

accepted with honors and found out today I recieved the arrupe scholarship. 1950 SAT math-700 reading-600 writing-650. 4.0 UW GPA and lots of extra curriculars. has anyone else heard about financial aid?

Congrats akg13! :) That's so cool.
I got one of those financial aid packets with my deferral letter...weep. haha.

thanks. well goodluck. keep your hopes up! you never know what will happen!

Darn, I'm so scared. I finally sent in my application today after months of editing. I love LMU!!!

My acceptance is very questionable for me because of my terrible GPA.

GPA: (UW) 2.79 (I have, however, shown constant improvement. My first semester senior year GPA is a 4.40, so I'm hoping they will want to look at those grades.)
SATs: CR - 590, M - 670, W - 670 [11 on my SAT essay, which will help so they don't think someone wrote my application essay for me. I spend 2 months on that essay! haha :) )
My essays have been worked on for months, so they're very good. (Unlike this ghastly post, my essays are well written.) Also, I have a passion for LMU and I think that this passion shows through in my essays.
I also sent in a portfolio of some work I've done. (Commercial graphic and web design which I've been doing since I was 10. :) )
3 Letters of Recs

Crazy, huh? I would give anything to redo my freshman and sophomore years. :(

I am so happy for all of you who have been accepted. You will all love LMU if you decide to go. It's an excellent, gorgeous school. :D

So... Who has decided to attend LMU?

hold on, are we allowed to send in any supplemental materials to LMU, regardless of our major?

I'm not sure. They didn't say not to and they didn't say that they would throw away any additional materials that were sent in.

Coolrena8, if you have anything you think will help you out, ask your councilor if it is appropriate or not to send in. :)

i sent in my app several days ago.
aghh the waiting will suck =(
congrats to everyone who is already in!

haha, i am so dumb. i recently just decided that LMU is my top choic college, and i haven't even written my essay yet. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

oh well at least it's not as bad as... say.. the NYU ap.

good thing i have 15+ days left.

btw, does anybody happen to know LMU's act range? it doesn't say on their site. (i got 30, 10 on essay)

College board reports the ACT Composite is: 23-27

:)

good luck to all of you- my oldest D went to LMU for her first two years and loved it. However, she just transferred to be closer to home. But it is a wonderful school.

hehe screw NYU (my original top choice school).

LMU is my top choice now muahahahaha.

Congratulations akg13! How did you find out about the scholarship? My daughter was accepted and I believe she also has the stats to qualify for a scholarship, but we have not heard anything yet. We are NJ, where are you? Thanks.
