Accepted thread!!!

Thanks, Ceetie Bee. I do want to know how much scholarship I get though, if any.

I've been accepted, too. I applied on 12/1 and got my letter this saturday (the letter was dated 1/6).

Some other people from my schools have already been accepted too.

I am still awaiting honors like everyone else! I read on the honors website that the LATEST you are notified is mid-April. I am wondering if that means that those of us who are already accepted into the university, could hear back from the program within the next month? Just a speculation.

Accepted (Applied 11/30)

SAT:750M 630R 660W
GPA 3.86 UW
ECS: Key Club, SCAA Basketball, 400+ hours SL
Hook: None

Accepted!

Applied on 11/30

This is my very first post. I've been following the threads for some time and I'd like someone to weigh in on this. From what I can see, it looks like a person can get two types of replies after the "Awaiting Review". I've seen some people say they show "Reviewed" (they then end up talking about their transcript loading). Others say they receive the statement "We have received all materials required to review your application. Your application will remain in this status until decisions are finalized. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.". My S is showing the latter as his status at this point. I'm wondering if the people that are accepted go from "Awaiting Review" directly to "Reviewed" while the people not accepted go from "Awaiting Review" to the statement of needing to wait for the mail. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Collegebound: See my post to you on the other thread

Accepted by unofficial transcript load! Applied 12/1

collegebound...that's not right. I had the status your S had, and I was accepted.

It's really very simple -- you only need to pay attention to the first part of the status. If it says "received" they haven't done the review. If it says "reviewed" you can try the transcript load.

"received all materials required to review" means "received", not "reviewed".

when do we get notification of scholarships?

hmmm. I haven't heard of too many students getting scholarships and we send a valedictorian/salut yearly. I know there are some scholarships for honors acceptees and I would think they wouldn't come until the honors acceptance letter. I do know someone who got a full ride to UW Bothell and an athlete that got a full ride to UW Seattle but not too many others.

Is the business program at UW really that competitive? I was informed that only about 4% of freshman get admitted. That seems really low. Do the students that don't get in have to take economics and then switch in? Thanks

To explain Schindlr, right after getting accepted UW will randomly give some freshmen acceptance into the business school. It doesn't even matter if they declared business as their major or your highschool GPA or anything. IE. Our student body president with a 3.9 did not get auto in but a 3.4 person who wants to do health sciences but (second choice is business) was auto accepted to the business school. But the program is very hard to get into, some people who have 3.8 do not get in for unknown reasons and some with 3.5's do. It is probably one of the hardest to get into because of how many apply.

Hi, ok well I was accepted into the UW already about a month ago and I have talked with some of the members of the business program. Only people who choose business as their first and second choice are considered for the program. Also they said that they don't start making decisions until about February. But anyway I know there aren't set guidelines for who gets admitted but my question was if you don't get in, what are your options? Do you take general classes and hope to be accepted next year or what? Is there an alternative business course program, or economics? Thanks for your response.

Hmm, I apologize on two fronts (first for inaccurate information) and second for not completely understanding the question.
If you just got accepted and are Freshman standing then you can simply wait until you're a sophomore and then apply at the normal time. If you are Junior standing (or sophomore that applied and didn't get in) as far as I know you can just do general business classes (which is waiting until the next year). I am not sure if there are any secondary programs however both of the satellite schools (Bothell and Tacoma) have business programs.
For that question I would ask one of the freshmen advisers.

Thanks for sharing your insight with me!

Has anyone gotten a welcome packet yet? I thought it was supposed to come in early January.

The welcome packet arrived today.

Really? Do you live in Washington?

Yes -- about 20 miles from Seattle. They probably put them in the mail yesterday.

Sweet! I'm in the Portland, OR area, so that probably means I'll get mine tomorrow or Saturday! That's great news, Indiana91! Thanks so much!

You have no idea how impatient I've been for this to come.
